From memory, he went through a phase doing that mid career and was dropped.
Pure class, unflappable...(apart from the odd spray)..if you compiled the greatest Eagles team of all time, sure it's been done many times, Wirra would surely be one of the defenders?

Yeah I agree he was awesome. It's just a quirky little memory I have of him.
One second you'd be excited as he swept the ball off the goal line and the next it's 15 rows back from a miskick.
But also remember the awesome torps, pick ups on the run in full flight and the odd goal from outside 50.
I reckon I was at his 2nd game v Melb at princes Park and he kicked a nice goal (a game where Craig Turley played for Melb lol forgot that happened)

Might be unpopular on here but I remember nearly every game Jackson Nelson would get pinged HTB inside our oppo 50.
He'd try and break a tackle thinking he’s Yeo but they absolutely nail him everytime.

Melbourne nearly poached Peter Mater as well around mid 90s. He said he was leaving and the club talked him out of it.

Impressive, he could surprise this coming season and get some games in. To be honest, I was expecting him to play out the year with the Beagles to put on some size and core strength. Looks like he has done that already.
Way to go, young man.
Three weeks is not enough time to put on significant muscle. It's either better lighting aided by the tan (to show more definition), or he dumped a bunch of body fat and got a bit more ripped.

I rate McIntosh but Glass was a cut above IMO - 4x All Australian (1 as captain, not that that means shit but it didn't feel like a 'legacy' selection to me), 3x club champion as a full back and an underrated captain of our club. Think he starts in that lineup.
A lot can change due to camera quality and lighting.
The first looks like a blown up blurry version of Long from a distance, running laps covered in shade, also wearing a T-shirt.
Second is a higher def camera from 5m away in pure sunlight, with his pipes out.
People read too much into each photo that comes through this thread. A few years ago there was one of Shuey looking pasty, with a bicep that looked like it had zero muscle on it, the furthest from flattering. Low and behold season rolls on and Shuey is as much of a strong ball of muscle as ever.
