A s**t kick will always be a s**t kick. If you can’t kick at 18, you can’t kick at 22
I would agree to an extent as in mechanically if you suck its hard to change. Chocco has improved the dees kicking heaps! Oliver in particular, Langdon used to be an almighty butcher and whilst he's definitely not elite it's nowhere near the issue it once was.

If you can’t improve then you wouldn’t practice.
Its just one of those things you either can or can’t do. You can improve marginally but you are not going from someone who can’t hit a target to someone who beams lazers worm burning grass cutting passes.

Definitely not a track watcher but the foot skills from the match sim yesterday was pretty average on the whole imo. TT was missing targets under no pressure down back with simple transfers of play. Hall torched a couple trying to kick the leather off the pill! There wasn't a hell of a lot of separation to really gauge how much improvement or otherwise there was tbh. They'd already been going pretty hard at it for a couple of hours before match sim so again small excuses there. Drury didn't miss a target and Curtis kicked a few lazer bullets. Overall I'd say it's still going to be an achilles heel. But with improved fitness im sure it'll get better. Kingy commented on the dees training yesterday being highly skilled, we are a fair way off of that tag that's for sure!
Our foot skills have been poor for the best part of a decade, it's going to take a lot more than one pre-season under Clarko to fix this. Fortunately we're addressing this, which you've highlighted, players like Hall, Ziebell, Greenwood etc. are on the way out and players like Curtis, Drury, Sheezel etc. are coming in. Like you say it will still be an achilles heel but by 2024 I'm hoping we've turned the corner.

Absolute rubbish. You can improve a huge amount from the age of 17 with practice.
Goalkicking yes, field passing no. By the age of 17 they have kicked the football 10 million times. They kick the ball 100’s of times a week during training and games. Yet, doesn’t improve a great deal. The best kicks in the league were the best kicks when they were juniors.

  • Drury to play BP
  • Powell could well be our most improved of course him and Noble didn't like each other. NFI why Noble didn't like Powell. Can understand Powell not liking Knobs. The "K" is silent
  • TT still has sore ribs
  • Comben is fine, will go better against an opponent rather than a mate
  • Our fitness is greatly improved, this time it actually is true.
  • al clarko happy with how the back half is coming together
* Fwd line needs work, not gelling as yet
  • Wardlaw is miles off, there are reasons of course. So don't expect him anytime soon ffs ( yep a few BF posters called that- well played)
  • CCJ is still CCJ- I still have hope.
  • It might take all year to "get there".
  • Get there means playing regular finals from 2024
  • al clarko does think we'll get there
Cunners & LDU to spend time fwd this season.

Oh happy with Bonar and Perez, but both need to make an impression this year.

Thanks. Is this your opinion or do you have some ITK status?

I think Clarko is going to protect the group a bit by simplifying the game plan and ensuring we get the basics right and then add layers from there.
Development is well and truly needed and will take time.

Hopefully the excitement around the club is maintained and the results will come but I can’t see major improvement this year just yet.

I see major improvement this years but not necessarily resulting in 10-12 wins or so.

A deeper list that is fitter, can play 4 quarters, win 5-7 games, more wins in the VFL as well, a better % and an engaged playing group.

That would be a great launching pad for 2024

But I never give up hope!!

This guy.. the Cook..

if he can stop the triple figure losses, hell cut it back to no losses over 12 goals, id still call that a major improvement.
