Think Ned got the gig for his footy connections, business / marketing expertise etc. Interesting that 2 x 1990 premiership players now Head of Football and CEO - obviously Wrighty gave Ned a tick. Can't really imagine Jeff Browne signing off on CEO who didn't meet the criteria.

Ned was a big avocate for Browne to become president.

The only misstep he made was carrying on in the media about the Tasmanian bid for an AFL licence, the only Victorian president to do so.That was very Edwardian of him to do so.
Yes his only true screw up. As if the AFL will listen to him on Tassie getting a team. Tasmania truly deserves a team. The whole state will get behind it.
Less money for the rest of the sides I'm guessing. Why else would he say anything at all.

In all fairness he never said he was against a Tasmanian team. He only said admitting them while we don't have a permanent head of the AFL with Gil moving on was a mistake as it needs to be done correctly. The commission would be 3 people short & implementing a massive inclusion for a 19th team.

Pies boss warns AFL over ‘premature’ Tasmania decision

“Making a decision with the commission three [members] down and led by a CEO who is not going to own the result is fundamental [to our position],” Browne said.

Tyler Brown is getting a second chance:

Good luck to him. I hope he does well, just not against us.

On a different note, it's good the scandals are not about Jordy this off-season.
Keeping a low profile is a much better idea:

Except for publicly stating he would resign if we dumped another good player for peanuts and then they did exactly that with Grundy.

If he did say it, (can't remember seeing it anywhere) he did said "good player" so he's still covered

If I recall correctly he didn’t make any consequences for himself but just said that the salary cap situation that led to desired players being shipped out would not happen again under his watch. To be fair, it’s not like he was the cause as this was still a consequence of the earlier stuff ups in bringing in players like Beams and giving massive money to Cox and Stephenson.
