There will be a team with a soft draw and a great injury run that launches into the top 4, there almost always is every season.Does anyone else think that the AFL this year is really segmented? People will laud how close it is on results but I have a feeling that based on last year and the off season movements, there are distinct groups of teams.
Tier 1
Richmond
Geelong
Melbourne
Brisbane
Then there is a big skill gap to the next tier
Tier 2
Sydney
Freo
Carlton
Collingwood
Tier 3
Saints
Dogs
Gold Coast
Port
GWS
West Coast
Tier 4
Essendon
Norf
Hawthorn
Adelaide
These are by no means the ladder positions I foresee but there just seems to be a very clear Best top 4 this year more than other years.

Makes them less vanilla.I see that Walsh from Carlton is out for a few months. What a shame.....
Perfect excuse for their supporters when we beat them round 1.I see that Walsh from Carlton is out for a few months. What a shame.....
wanilla walshI see that Walsh from Carlton is out for a few months. What a shame.....
heard on sen yesterday he is a smokey for round 1 as he has healed faster than expected
bloke had back surgery and they are going to rush him back for our game smasha
Let's see if I remember this correctly. We brushed Collingwood aside with relative ease. We gave Geelong a 6 goal headstart and they knocked out Prestia in the first 10 minutes. We hit the front and some bloke got a lucky mark Infront of goal in the last minute to win it for them.Lol I see in the HUN an interesting sentence.
"Collingwood and Geelong set the pace last season with their quick ball movement and the Tigers look set to try to match them".
We would have kept to our fast manic style of play which Collingwood and Geelong copied if it wasn't for the rule changes.
That is exactly why we changed but now apparently we are copying Collingwood and Geelong?
Balmey wept.
To be honest. My rankings were more based on skill than actual ladder positions. There is always going to be that team that gets an incredible draw and looks like a top 4 club and then there are teams in the top tier I could see dropping a few players and then finishing in the bottom half of the 8There will be a team with a soft draw and a great injury run that launches into the top 4, there almost always is every season.
Yep, the interesting one for me is Sydney. Recent history isn't too kind to teams that cop a belting in the grand final. Highly skilled team but can they continue to grow that list based on copping a flogging. To be honest. My rankings were more based on skill than actual ladder positions. I think Melbourne and Brisbane are going to find they are way too cumbersome come finals.Yep, the interesting one for me is Sydney. Recent history isn't too kind to teams that cop a belting in the grand final. Highly skilled team but can they continue to grow that list based on copping a flogging.
Also Collingwood. They had a bottom 4 draw and won all their close games with a fairy tale coach. Highly skilled or not they are going to be marked men this season and will have a much harder draw (although I doubt they will actually leave Victoria).
The other one I'm not sure about is Melbourne. I reckon they've shot their bolt. Maybe just wishful thinking.
Gotta call it like you see it man.Obviously Stocker and the situation surrounding his drafting created plenty of mirth around here but I’ve got to say, after hearing him speaking in the media today, he’s one of the most impressive young sportspeople I’ve heard.
Should use any opportunity to take the piss out of Silvagni and his drafting, that’s for sure.Gotta call it like you see it man.
With the media sucking off Geelong for months it kind of got lost how much of a shameful performance it was by Sydney. Those are the ones that stick, how can they talk about Bloods culcha with a straight face anymoreYep, the interesting one for me is Sydney.
