Best not be chasing Caleb Serong or Connor Rozee if that's the case.....all OK though Lachie Neale scrapes in, pity about Patty Cripps and Jack Steele they miss out.
The handballing backwards to a teammate 5m away so he can run a bit further ahead and receive a 10m handball is just pure stat padding that offers nothing.
With the amount of possessions he get he needs to be averaging 350-400 meters gained a game. Last season he was below 250. Hasn't averaged above 350 since 2017
Yes, and all those other players average mid to high 20s for disposals at their best. Matt Crouch gets the ball in the low to mid 30s at his best, so he needs to average more meters
Career average meters gained per disposal
Matt Crouch - 10.0
Caleb Serong - 13.7
Connor Rozee - 13.5
Lachie Neale - 11.2
Patrick Cripps - 9.5
Jack Steele - 11.6
And a few more
Tom Mitchell - 11.4
Rory Laird - 12.6
Clayton Oliver - 11.5
Jackson Macrae - 11.9
Zach Merrett - 14.8
Darcy Parish - 12.5
Sam Walsh - 12.1
Andrew Brayshaw - 12.0
Touk Miller - 13.6
Oliver Wines - 13.3
Adam Treloar - 12.9
Jordan Dawson - 20.4
Jayden Short - 24.1
Brodie Smith - 24.5
Among the league's biggest ball winners he has below average meters per disposal
Of course if he got up to 375 meters gained from 32 disposals he'd be averaging around 11.7 meters per disposal which is typical for a big ball winner
