Two weeks - Imgflip
Get ready for gymming to take a back seat, eventually those arms will be as skinny as those legs.

In all seriousness though, it was a steady decline from mediocre specimen to dad bod over 4 years.

The last 3 months ive pulled my finger out doing a PPL program 4x week. Seen some decent improvements in that time.

now i just need to sort out my diet.

Simpson on SEN just now, after they got past the Stevie Simpson Cup discussion

• Numbers on the track still very good. Repeated that up until mid January last year they were in pretty good nick before things went awry and they never recovered
• Ginbey and Long have been impressive. Ginbey with his athletic profile and Long with his footy smarts.
• Just as exciting as the rookies showing something is the senior players coming back after missing much or all of last year - Sheed, Allen, Yeo, Naitanui and even McGovern the players mentioned
• Asked about Culley said he’s been super impressive- brought his 2k time down from 6.35 when he first arrived at the club to 6.00 flat or 6.03. Said he is doing everything right and all that is being asked of him
• Bazzo has spent a little bit of time around the club the last couple of days and will steadily increase that but they aren’t rushing him (still has the funeral to plan for example). Said he’s been injured over preseason so will be coming back through rehab when he does return

Masten house vibes everywhere!

Is it just me being more excited about the rookies showing something anything?

So we’re pretty much picked to finish bottom 2 by most predictors, I just can’t see it personally. Am I being blinded by my bias? Our list is nowhere near as bad as people make it out to be. If the senior players stay fit and put in the appropriate effort (big if there) and we get some youthful enthusiasm from the kids, like 2018, anything could happen. I actually think we can make the 8.

Like you, I think we can improve (we can barely get worse) but other than our guys looking as fit as they have for a long time, there’s no real evidence to support that

Our senior players are all another year older, there’s some key players coming back off long term injuries and our best young players are all under 20 with limited, or no, AFL experience

At this point our main challengers for the Harley Reid Cup are North who were as bad as us last year and Hawthorn who waved goodbye to virtually all their experience. GWS are a sneaky chance as well after their list was plundered again in the off season

So whilst I don’t agree with it, I can understand the scepticism from outside the club regarding our chances of climbing back up the ladder

All comes down to application and game plan, if we've improved on both of these then I can't see it happening.

With that said, given the last 3 years I'd rather see the proof of this in the pudding than make any confident statements we'll be a different team with a hardened resolve and attack at the contest. I do think we look the best we have in a long time going into a season and I'm excited at what it may hold, even if the results are only some positive performances for a few individual players I'll be happy.

If we finish bottom 2 it'll be a heck of a year to do it and we can continue to stock the pond with some elite talent.

A quick look at betting odds suggests we're bottom 3, with the bottom 4 comprising us, Norf, Hawks, GWS.

Thats followed by Crows and Bombers then Suns and Saints.

Not too difficult to imagine a scenario where we leap frog a few of those teams. Doesn't take much to have a team rise or fall against others. Bit of luck one way or another..

I don't mind it though. No pressure hopefully means the Match Committee are more likely to play the kids rather than purely chasing wins. I'd prefer games into the yoof and a full season of implementing the new game plan over wheeling out the likes of Hurn for 20 games because we're trying to shoot back up the ladder for a hail Mary season.

Reckon we'll definitely finish above Hawks, Roos and Giants, probably ahead of Crows, with Saints and Bombers in our sights. Could land anywhere from 10-16.
