I didn't watch, but a better comparison sounds more like marking in the goalsquare with 60 seconds left, running down 30s, then kicking backwards 20m to a spare man.

Sure, why not.

Or a batter turning down a single to keep the number 11 off strike. Same thing happens in every sport, this is just one of the more dramatic ones

Or perhaps marking it in the goal square with a minute or 2 left and instead of turning around and immediately playing on, walking back and taking your full 30 seconds to put your team 7 points up and take away time for the opposition to possibly score twice.

The touchdown was an inevitability, it was smart play to take the clock away from the opposition - no matter how boring it may have been for fans.

Jacks already hurt enough… why bring this up lol

Yep

And it was absolutely the right thing to do

Scoring the TD would have given Philadelphia time to score a game tying TD of their own if they were good enough

By not scoring the TD Kansas were able to run down the clock before scoring a go ahead Field Goal with only seconds left in the game

Smart play
Imagine passing up the touchdown and then your kicker gets blocked on the field goal attempt or something

I grew up as a 76’ers and Newcastle United fan.

I’ve basically spent 3+ decades following two teams that, albeit for a brief period for each team, have struggled to avoid relegation, suffered through dodgy ownership and management, but are now owned and backed by billionaires, and now we’re there or there abouts.

I honestly don’t know what I’ll do if either team actually wins it all.

•I’ve only followed the Lions for 9 years now.

You should take on a WAFL team. Can I suggest Perth Demons?

Thank God Newcastle are now free of dodgy ownership.
