Journalists targeting players. 🤣 Spare me. The only group who needed protecting were the women who'd come into the life of Tarryn Thomas.

Fair chance we won’t have named our new captain when we play Geelong next week. Certainly no news out of the club, ahead of our game against Sydney tomorrow.

I didn’t see it get mentioned outside of the Brisbane media, but Fagan got in to it with our local afl.com reporter in a hallway inside the Gabba last season, after the Essendon loss (when half the squad had covid). Stories that he may have had said reporter up against a wall. Said reporter was also the co-host of the Lions official club podcast.

Clarkson telling a female reporter “your time will come” on the same day the Tarryn Thomas harassment allegations surfaced

Classy stuff Al

Should have given a more appropriate response.

Who do you want and who do you think will be Brisbane's next captain?

Last two captains were Rockliff, followed by Zorko so on that basis they’ll find the next biggest dickhead on their list. So Joe Daniher I guess

Neale might get the gig, but I think Harris Andrews was the favourite

Any word on Marcus Adams?

I was really enjoying his late career bloom so it's seems really unfortunate he has been brought low with concussion.

Not good. Listen to the Fagan interview on AFL.com.

My guess is his career is finished, and right now the focus is just on trying to get him back to living a normal life.

Neale to both questions. Andrews as vice captain.

Neale already said publicly in an interview on Tuesday that he wants to be captain.

Fagan said in his recent interview that 18 players put their hands up for the leadership group. Wouldn't say how many put their hand up for captain, but said they're now going through an interview process. He did hint that Dunkley might be in the leadership group.

Robbo: AFL’s pathetic silence condones Clarko bullying

AFL bosses have to stop treating Alastair Clarkson like “God”, writes Mark Robinson, and their silence after his threatening comment to a journalist is akin to condoning the behaviour.

Don't miss out on the headlines from AFL. Followed categories will be added to My News.

Alastair Clarkson is a bully.
And the AFL is weak, yet again.

And why didn’t North Melbourne, which espouses itself as the community club, issue any sort of condemnation of their senior coach?
It’s OK to say it’s not OK.

Clarkson is old-school. He has a temper which he believes is part of football. His excuse this time for using threatening language towards a female reporter, accompanied by that fearsome Clarkson stare down no doubt, was that he always protects his players.
The old schoolers in the media, who would never criticise Clarkson, might argue that that protective mechanism Clarkson has is one of the reasons he’s an all-time great.

He’s a galvaniser. A leader. A warrior general.
On a different front, he is just a bully.

He’s employed to talk to his players however he chooses, but he hasn’t the right to menace anyone else, in this case someone doing their job and asking questions.

No one barracks for the media, but that’s not the point. People should barrack for some level of respect.
Clarkson gave the reporter none.

His player, Tarryn Thomas, is stood down for allegedly threatening females, the exact reason the reporter was at training in the first place.
Clearly, the footy bubble can be an unhealthy place.

Clarkson apologised. And good on him. But the issue is why he found himself in the predicament in the first place? Why go at a female reporter?
His gnarly personality rides shotgun to a brilliant footy mind. He is also often a brilliant contributor to the community with his generosity of time and commitment.

He let himself down on this occasion.
But because it’s Clarkson, the footy world tiptoes around his misdemeanours.

Pity they play like s**t in the wet

Reminds me of these two epic fails ..... talk about the Violet Crumbles over rating their own and getting ahead of themselves.

Just bad manners.
