Where did I say career ending? Might be it at the Eagles not career.
And the injury has been reported.
Meanwhile Seven Perth’s Ryan Daniels reported Eagles forward Jack Williams remains in hospital two days after an “innocuous tackle” at training on Tuesday.

He required a wheelchair for assistance and tests have since revealed a ruptured spleen.

Hopefully all goes well though and he can get back he will just now pretty much have to do all the pre-season etc again just to get back up to competition fitness.

Yeah you don’t know what you are talking about and have drawn the longest bow possible. In your original post on this that I called out as hogwash you stated it would require a lot of rehab and could end his season. You went on to say he may be offered a rookie spot post that. Crazy talk and wildly sensationalising it.

I know it was reported at the time and because I know something about injury and rehab I thought… This is very serious in the short term (damage to vital organ) but will only require rest time then fitness tune up to be all sweet as long as he gets through the first bit. Unlike the majority of injuries that are musculoskeletal it literally requires zero rehab. Unless you know about something I haven’t heard about where you somehow train your spleen to do push-ups and burpees once it comes good perhaps? 🤔 As I said - you are talking smack. He will be fit during 2023 and very unlikely to come off our list as a promising young tall with a temporary injury that now just requires a little rest period

Does "recovery" mean to participate in high level contact sports though? Below article mentions "light activity" for up to 3 months before upping the intensity.

Not much news on the intraclub match today. I know everybody was locked out, but has anything leaked out - did anyone sparkle and shine out on the track?

I literally posted up to 12 weeks (3months). Back on the track at least even worst case like round 8/9 of 2023
To be fair, if it’s a case of he’s not back on the training track until Rd 8 and it then takes another 8 weeks of training to get fit to play, then a few weeks playing WAFL to get match fitness, then that’s the season.
What point are you trying to prove again?

Wow good to see you know how to Google. I saw exact same result when I searched it.
All I wish and PRAY for is anyone who gets a chance to play AFL takes that opportunity with everything they have and injuries are just an obstacle you overcome or succumb to.

That this

From what I hear it would be a miracle if he is back running.
Probably out for the season.

is unrealistic.

He can start fitness work far prior to the 12 weeks he needs to stay away from contact and that is worst case scenario. You’ve added so much mayo to that to try to stretch it to the full season. Hilarious from you

Gavin Bell being interviewed by Mark Duffield on 6/3. Duffield asked about Jack Williams at about 7.20

MD : “Jack Williams, ruptured spleen. What sort of time frame does that mean for him?”
Bell : “Well Jack’s not back running yet, he’ll still be a couple of weeks as everything settles for Jack and obviously a serious injury so there’ll be no risk taken with a young man and with that kind of injury as well so look he is probably another week or two away from getting really active back out on the field but he’s going to take a little bit of time”

Clearly there’s no rush and we’ve seen the club be quite conservative this preseason generally. If there are fears he won’t play this season it would be out of character for the club to express them publicly this early. But I also doubt they’ve made that sort of decision before he’s even returned to training and with the season yet to actually begin

I think any talk of the injury being season ending is more as one possible outcome rather than something that is expected to happen just yet

My guess is we're sitting pretty 2-0 after round 2 and The West are writing cringe 'Eagles are back' slop that will piss the usual crowd off before we lose our next seven games and just manage to scrape a win against a (tanking for Harley Reid) Hawks side in Tassie in round 10.

All is right in the world.

Crap. We'll never win in Tassie, it's devils' country. I'm not against a Tassie team btw, but if there is to be one we'll never ever beat them there.

I'd be very surprised and happy if we are 2-0.

No game this year should not be an expected win.

We are truly the unknown.

Get ready for some pain losers. This season we're likely to win more games than last, but we'll still stink and it'll be worse because we'll have a better playing list and still be cellar dwellers.

It's the recession we have to have, and it's not all bad, we'll see some kids develop and get some high draft picks and best of all - prepare yourself for some breakroom punch-ons with chirpy Cockburn supporters up and about for their 7 yearly preliminary finals peak before returning to irrelevance.

Cannot wait!
