...

But, I’ve also run into a stack of 40/50/60-somethings, lifelong Portonians, who have absolutely mainlined the ‘Port were about to be relegated to the TFL and David Koch and Ken Hinkley single-handedly saved the whole operation out of the goodness of their hearts’ bathwater.

It’s wild.

I find these type actually usually can't stand Koch at all but still love Hinkley. Explain that.

‘Go and support the Tingles’ say ‘True Believers’ whose only case for Hinkley is to run down literally everything else (the list, the club’s stature) by comparison.

It’s like we’re living in a simulation programmed by Stephen Rowe and that fruchoc-scoffer who faked his own death.

I don't know how those people would go supporting the Crows because they would have sacked Hinkley at least three times by now.

I'm sure it's been said before and will be said again, but holy heck, look at the effects of new coaches across the board.

Essendon 2-0
North 2-0
StKilda, Saint *in Kilda, a side with 75 injuries and had gumption beyond belief to sack their coach from nowhere, are 2-0

McRae's impact, Voss' impact

Meanwhile we're all here comfortable in 11th spot again, looking forward to a future of going 50/50 in showdowns, finishing mid table and occasionally making an important final we will lose..

But hey, hows the stability!
I just can't come to terms with the fact that Collingwood finished 17th, just 18 months ago - at the same time we played off in a preliminary final. One team then had the guts to appoint an untried coach, while the other banked on the fact that strategies that had failed for the past decade would magically start working. Then last Saturday happened, which clearly illustrated which club is on the right path.

It's the one with stability right?

Imagine if someone said to you after the 2021 Prelim that Luke Beveridge will get sacked before Hinkley?

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Geelong also got smashed in the 2021 preliminary final. The Cats set about righting those wrongs, and they reaped the ultimate reward 12 months later. Meanwhile, we lost the passion after our preliminary final debacle, and finished in no man's land.

Luke beveridge lol. He has way more runs on the board than Hinkley, I get that part but he is an absolute flog.

Josh Carr would be good option, but if they want a proven coach with mongrel, motivation skills, and a cunning edge then Beveridge would be a great pick.

He has come to a club that couldn't win a flag to save their lives and got them the ultimate prize.

Stinkers, well he has done the complete opposite.

Don't listen to the Melbourne media about Bevo - he doesn't take any shite from them and many have agendas against him. Just the sort of bloke Port needs and the fans will love IMO.

That’s literally all it is. In contrast Hinkley is all chuckles, cuddles and access (provided you don’t ask him a single question about his contract status or why Port craters every five minutes).

Imagine having a coach who actually calls out BS from AFL house, umpires and the football media, who gives a **** about winning and has a track record of success to back it up, and drops players regardless of what their name is if they don't perform on the park.

All the shit half this board complains about our coach not doing and then it's "nah we don't like he's got big muscles"...we could get a cyborg Clarkson-Barassi-Cahill-Fos clone and this place would find a way to winge about it.

'We just saw the benchmark today' said Ken with a smile.

What do you mean they're the benchmark now? Does it annoy or frustrate you that 18 months ago we were close to that status.

He just doesn't give a s*** anymore and doesn't have the drive or motivation to turn it around.

We are such a mediocre football institution now happy to watch other clubs at the top takeover.
