Got me ****ed why so many people love Hinkley so much... He is just the coach.

Can understand if we had a few premierships and some club was trying to poach him. But he is a failure.

Coaches come and go.. never seen so much love for a coach before. It's ******* weird.

Can Understand having a favourite player ect.. they are out on the field... But the way they stick up for "Kenny" is mind blowing.
And the new coach will be on a hiding to nothing. If he's successful, the media pitch will be, "Ken Hinkley put all the stepping stones in place." And if he's no good, it'll be, "Why did Port get rid of Ken?"

I’ve definitely run into those, typically 20-somethings and 30-something young dad casual types who clearly weren’t really au fait with the machinations of 12-15 years ago as young adults/teens.

But, I’ve also run into a stack of 40/50/60-somethings, lifelong Portonians, who have absolutely mainlined the ‘Port were about to be relegated to the TFL and David Koch and Ken Hinkley single-handedly saved the whole operation out of the goodness of their hearts’ bathwater.

It’s wild.

My old man is one of them. Die-hard Port man and raised us to be the same. Attended every GF in the 90's as a kid because of him, first AFl game, final, GF etc. Would have his weekend mood dictated to by the fortunes of the team.

Now sits there and says what has Hinkley got to win with? Makes comments around supporting the vision of the club etc. But what I have noticed is this has coincided with a general malaise around football for him. The product isn't the same for these people and the game they once loved and the connection to the club they once had is well in the rear-view, so footy is now an entertainment source as opposed to a religion.

“It’s a streaming app that allows footy fans to instantly relive their club’s greatest moments of the past decade”

— “Do you have Jordan Dawson’s goal after the siren?… What about Luke Shuey’s?… ok… but do you have Carlton scoring 20 unanswered points in time-on to win despite being 2 men down and Paddy Cripps visibly hobbling on one leg?”

“Mr Cuban… what do you take me for?!”

The Creed

Any club worth its salt will clean out its no-hopers from the doorman, to the head trainer, to the captain.

Keeping no-hopers in these positions, or any other position, is the mark of the non-successful club.

You've got to weed out people who breed an atmosphere of non-professionalism.

They're there for the bloody joke, for the social life, for the prestige. They're not there to win!!

"To be successful, each of us must be active, aggressive and devoted to this cause. We agree
that success is well within our reach and have confidence that each member of both team and
management will suffer personal sacrifices for the common end."

- Foster Neil Williams

Has Kock or the Board ever read this?

In the interest of fairness we won't be able to comparatively judge and compare the new Coach to Ken until they have spent 11 years in charge. :)

You try to delete the app it has a flashing message and at full volume keeps yelling 'remember how bad 2012 was' over and over

The dog murderer supports an industry responsible for horrific animal abuse. Possums with their paws cut off used as live bait.

Hinkley isn't a "nice guy" he's an absolute grub and a disgrace.

Greetings all

Just dropped in to say keep up the good work

Decided to get myself a REAL PORT ADELAIDE jumper, as they have done another release (for delivery in July)

I just can't come to terms with the fact that Collingwood finished 17th, just 18 months ago - at the same time we played off in a preliminary final. One team then had the guts to appoint an untried coach, while the other banked on the fact that strategies that had failed for the past decade would magically start working. Then last Saturday happened, which clearly illustrated which club is on the right path.
Like when we hammered Richmond in that final then they went past us and won 3 flags... And the time we were better than Melbourne then they won a flag...

Or when we smoked the hapless Western Bulldogs by 12 goals at Adelaide Oval to go 11-2, and they were about to sack their coach, see their captain walk out to GWS and another star player decamp for Arden Street.

A tick over 2 years later they broke their 62-year premiership drought, and the coach responsible is under more pressure than ours currently is.

Unless Ken leaves the club, it seems just a matter of time before perennial eastbeats Carlton and Essendon go past us as well.
