It's sad seeing tabs on the decline.

I wished he was 22-25 years old again and fully fit. We all waited patiently for him to play 20-22 games in a season and kick 40 goals.

I wished Michael Apeness or Scott Jones made it as a solid KPF ruckman that kicked 30-40 goals a season too.
I doubt Scott Jones would have ever kicked anywhere near that. He did well to get on an AFL list, and was okay in some games but treacle-slow was putting it politely. Apeness certainly had that potential, but clearly not the right body. Man, you love casting your mind back to some quirks of our time in the AFL!

We've had rotten luck in that area and the fact it's 2023 and still an issue is alarming. Tabs has done well to forge out the career off the rookie list, but even in 2017 Ross was reluctant to name him above McCarthy and Kersten or even alongside and he played a fair chunk at Peel before coming good in 2018. Even so, his body has never held up for him to play 1 full season...his quicker decline doesn't surprise me, but no one can argue he hasn't worked hard to get where he was.

I'll be honest, I thought we'd solved our forward line woes when we traded in Lobb and Hogan, but we all see how that played out. In the end you wonder if Freo will ever get an awesome, functioning forward line. Maybe we are cursed?

Our stocks have always been very thin and a combination of mega-injured or just....naff. Pretty sad really, thank god Mathew never requested a trade back to South Australia and also always love Mundy for his unreal loyalty. You could argue they wasted their careers at Freo, but I'll always be truly grateful we had them and I'm sure I speak for a myriad fans for the same.

Maybe one day Freo will organically grow a decent forward line, but let's be honest....no one's holding their breath!

Hi, folks! Where are we in the stages of grief at the realisation that JL is not going well? I’m fluctuating between depression and testing and acceptance, with a dark and persistent anger.

I like to think I do my finest work in the anger zone. I didn't even realise acceptance was a thing TBH

probably as early as denial, but anger could be just around the corner haha

Geezuz if they drop this week's game this place will (quite correctly) go into absolute meltdown.

Lol , how far back did you have to go to dig that baby up

Bloody Freo , it’s like having a drug addict kid

You love them still but don’t have much hope left
I don't dislike you Tony Geeks.

I don't expect Freo to get a flag under Justin Longmuir.

But after that nice 2022 season, I was hoping Freo would make finals for 2 or 3 years in a row.

So 2 or 3 Elim finals or 5th to 8th placed seasons in a row.

Then a bad bottom 6 season like Richmond of 2016 then a period of finals or even flag contention for 3 or 4 or even 5 years.

As I said, I predicted Justin Longmuir to last around 5-7 years. I didn't expect a flag.

But the way things are headed, Freo won't make finals in 2023 and 2024, then Longmuir gets sacked.

So it's basically Mark Harvey era of 2007-2011 again.

As I said, I wouldn't complain if Justin Longmuir achieves a similar finals record like Brad Scott of 2014-6 or port under Ken Hinkley from 2013-2021

You want to believe, but this club looks for big name players to sell excitement.
Instead of focusing on bringing the best talented coaches to the club.
You can’t tell me Mitchell is better than JOM? Pies also bought in McStay.
So the drive is from within, and when you look at guys like Leppitsch and Bolton
as assistant coaches it just highlights the load on JLo’s shoulders.
It’s exactly what they did with M Harvey, and then let Lyon do the hiring after
Kirk had bolted.
This club is going nowhere until this changes and we have Elite talent off the
field. Instead all you ever hear is the big contracts to the player that will change
our fortunes.
How can a guy like Hogan be so ordinary with us, and then the opposite with
GWS?
Obviously didn’t pass the DH policy, but would the Bulls win without Rodman?

We would have to finish just outside the top 8 for Jlo to be able to see out his contract imo.

Who is available if we do?

Experience heads in Pyke or Choco

Young up and coming coaches?

The man the myth the legend in his own mind..Peter Sumich?

Jaymie Graham who has done nothing to improve our Fwd line.
