Something is off.

Don't know quite what, but something is off. Way off.
Reminds me of our long dalliance with Owen in the first part of 2016, when a team that normally had such mojo and on field dynamic just looked lost, disconnected and out of touch with each other.

Main difference is this year's team has so few injuries and forced absences compared to 2016, where we were injury impacted and down...
Suspect it has to be something to do with selections, training and game plan understanding and commitment.
Whatever it is, it is sad seeing the joy sucked out of the younger kids especially - fear and hesitation have become the team's key emotions.
 
Our season is done, we aren't playing finals. It's time for the coaching staff and players to accept that and start focusing on development for next season. Older players who aren't up to it anymore need to be sent to Peel Thunder while our guys who will be here for the next ten years need to be playing every week.

Just for those following who will get Harley Reid. While hawks are firm favourites, so are Melbourne....who have the Dockers’ future first-round pick and the Dockers’ future second-round pick because of jackson. Sold farm. We're *ucked. Kill me now. If that eventuates, there's no coming back.
 
I dont want to be that guy but im going to be that guy

I am starting to wonder why i pay to see these muppets play. My old man has been a member since day dot and I have been since i was old enough to afford it. These last few weeks im starting to wonder why i bother paying to watch these dickheads play. I give them half a day on my weekend and pay good money to watch the most boring uninspired shit football imaginable. Its not fun. Years we have been waiting and hoping and thinking we are building. Is this what we have built? Hooley dooley.

Im still sitting here 10 years on watching taberner spilling marks. 10 Years and thats still our number 1 option. The scary thing is we don't even have injuries. This is our full strength squad. If there isnt some serious change throughout this year I dont see why i should financially support such an inept organisation. Sturt has proven he can kick goals at afl level. Oh but he cant tackle. Who gives a ****. Let the tacklers tackle and the goal kickers kick goals. We drafted midfielder after midfielder only to then say we have too much depth and sit them in the two's.

Im just ranting here but **** me drunk. Either have a proper crack or shut it down.
 
I feel the same way. The spirit of the club is missing and whatever made us quirky and worth fighting for despite the usual nonsense is no longer there. Actually, nothing is there. It’s just going through the motions. That’s the worst thing you can say about anything.

Put this in the changes thread but probably belongs here. Feel like this needs to happen. Doesn’t need to be around a campfire 🔥 but the players and coaches need to come together and figure it out together.

For me these two need to be spoken about.
1.Game Style
2. Selection integrity

Imagine how **** we'd be without GC fleecings and the Mayne -> Hill -> Serong deal.

I also think Carlton have paid overs for Cerra. He'll always be a good player but I think Amiss will be far superior.

Really hard to tell with Amiss, there is certainly encouraging signs but I dare not jinx things by getting too excited.

I'm confident on Amiss. He gets the ball playing on good defenders that are much stronger than he is and does it in different ways. Smart footballer.
 
Ffs someone get the damn forwards moving. Why the **** are they just standing still everytime bloody time we are kicking inside 50.

This is me every time i see we have a slow inside 50 kick...

There was a stoppage play yesterday in our square where Darcy tapped the ball directly into space in front of goals and all our rovers / small forwards had to do was soccer it through

They got nowhere near it

And that's why Banfield not handballing that goal off to Henry was such a bad sign.

A team in sync gives that handball 100% of the time. Instead we are disjointed and have guys playing for themselves.
 
The amount of basic skill errors including fumbles, dropped marks, missed tackles, missed handballs and shanked kicks over the first month has been unfathomable. Clearly just not switched on or we have a real deficiency in executing under pressure (and often under no pressure).

That’s a sign that’s the players talent level isn’t good enough, and the solution is a simplified game plan, not a highly complex one that requires unattainable precision levels in everything we do.

Get real. There was no need for him to handball when he was running into goal. Henry was looking for a cheap goal.

Guess you probably think he should have passed it off instead of having shot for goal with the first one lol

Henry probably would have fluffed it right on the line..

Yeah i was happy to finally see us not over use it and just KICK THE GOAL. Henry was trying to get an easy one. Henry should have been looking to block
