Indeed. It feels like we never get a serious start in a game. We need to play on and attack regularly. It seems like there’s a force field around our attacking 50 arc and the handball is the first option.

I reckon a lot of people's perceptions are coloured by the fact it was Henry, who is public enemy #1 right now.

The players involved are irrelevant though, the point is the Richmond 3peat team give that handball every time. We play like a collection of individuals, not a team.
 
While I'm here on the vent thread, and I'm allowed to post again, I will take this opportunity to have a rant.

I don't think I've ever been more embarrassed to be a Fremantle supporter than I was on Saturday afternoon. And It wasn't because of the teams dismal performance on the field.

After "7 years hard labor" trying to get the ball into our forward during the 3rd quarter after being absolutely embarrassed by the crows all day, Taberener fumbled his way into the right place and struggled through the goal. Hardly putting us back into the game, and certainly not making it look skillful in any shape or form.

I came onto BigFooty and called it what it was. Nothing to get excited about. Suddenly I was bombarded by accusations of being a killjoy and an opposition troll. Needless to say I was incensed after almost 30 years of loyal support of my club to be accused of anything but demanding excellence from the team was an insult.

In a fit of rage, I retaliated calling out the snowflakes who don't want to hear the truth about our performance and as a result earned myself a report and a 24 hour ban. Pretty painful when I have had a lot to say since Saturday, and having to read some comments here that I may not necessarily agree with without being able to respond.

At that moment, I came to the realisation that if that is the type of supporters we are, then we are worse supporters than West Coast, and I'm going to tell you why. You know why Eagles rebuilds take a lot less time than ours? It is because they do not accept mediocrity. I know it sounds horrible and it pains me to say it as I believe the supporters are the worst part of that club, but at least they call it as they see it.

Fremantle Football club have lead us on this jolly little journey of hopes and dreams for years now, promising the world and delivering an atlas. Making decisions at the draft table, during trade periods and every week at the match selection committee without any care in the world about the consequences. They do this week in and week out, year after year without any fear and you know why? Because they know we won't do anything about it, they believe that they will have our undying support regardless.

I know for a fact West Coast supporters wouldn't stand for sustained periods of lackluster performances and although it may not look like it now, drastic changes, both on field and off are probably just around the corner for that team. If we all idly stand by and gently clap and smile at our club even when they are putting up p*ss performances, and if we continue to blindly give them a pass when they jag a lucky possesion or a goal or a win as if it is a montesory, everybody gets a ribbon kind of scenario, well then we are never going to improve.

I emplore all of you, please, let's get tough. Let's be ruthless. We can't keep accepting mediocrity and we need to call it out when we see it, regardless of whether it sounds mean or cruel.

I accept that I'm probably going to earn myself another ban, but I'm passionate about my club. I want success and if I have to appear nasty to demand success so be it.

But don't be throwing accusations of being am opposition troll, that's just cold and low. And certainly be dishing reports outs out willy nilly just because you don't like what a fellow supporter is saying, especially in the heat of the moment without giving them a chance to respond, I'd never do that to any of you, that's a kin to eating our own.

Everything else about your post is correct btw - the reasons why Hogan can average two goals a game elsewhere before and after Freo needs to be looked at without just blaming Hogan’s off field stuff as well. He’s far from the only example

I think Hogan's personality and off field issues played a large part in failing at Freo. Along with his dodgey mates. If he went to the Crows or Port after Freo he would have failed IMO, he's not suited to a footy mad 2 team town. GWS is perfect for him.

He’s one example of many though. The only difference is he’s played elsewhere after us proving that we didn’t break him so bad it couldn’t be fixed. Others didn’t get that opportunity.

24 hour ban from BF painful? Really? Talk about first world problems. Just a bit self-absorbed there, and playing the victim in your post. And just because some of us don't personally abuse our players like you doesn't mean we "accept mediocrity" either.

Did we try and fix it though? Didn’t look like we did to me.

He’s a highly talented KPF we gave up a lot for but we practically gave him away.

Maybe it was so bad it couldn’t be fixed but geez it’s a lot of investment to simply throw away for nothing after two years.

You can’t help someone who doesn’t want to help themselves

Is it so hard to believe that the club tried but just gave up in the end .

I just wish we had if realised we needed to look 6-10 years ahead and drafted a King instead of wasting picks in him

He was a gun at Melbourne before he joined us
Like many of these trades looked at in isolation and without the benefit of hindsight it probably made some sense at the the time

Would Brayshaw cop the same criticism if he was captain? Because he's gone backwards this season too, his decision making and ball use has been seriously average, but he's untouchable around here.

I don't have an issue with Pearce being captain.
 
maybe the key to all this is not to trade with f*ing Melbourne. They f'd us up over the Hogan debacle, they screwed us on the Jackson trade and we get f* all for Balic and Langdon.

It's clear for all to see, stop trading with Melbourne and we win a flag. I thank you :laughv1:
