Aside from the cringe name, Gather Round is a pretty good concept, bringing footy back to suburban grounds. You can see how much their club means to the Aish family.

It's good to see such a great idea born out of the cynical idea of placating Queenslanders about not getting an (non covid) NRL Grand Final with a gimmick.

I'm glad I've been busy the last few weeks, and was only able to watch last weeks game in small periodic bursts on my phone at my engagement party so I've been able to avoid a lot of the shitshow. The problem when you don't have a pick in the back pocket to pin your hopes on is that you can't really pinpoint what you want out of most games anymore other than some improvement, maybe a slight shift in style and some good signs from Johnson, Sturt and Amiss.
