how does that work?

What injuries are and aren't included?

Cause I'm sure both Fogarty and Seedsman would be best 23 if fit.

It's current injury list, of which only Bond is on, who has played 0 AFL games. Seeds is on the inactive list and doesn't count.

Ah, so it's what's not available now

In my head I thought it'd be 'games missed due to injury'

So those 2 games for Fog = 100 games (50 each) or whatever it is

Sometimes I find the Burgess praise a bit one sided. Like they were talking about it on the footy show that Eddie McGuire is on saying how he's the secret weapon to the Crows form, but they never give the players the credit for absolutely working their asses off in the off-season.

At the end of the day Burgess is only as successful as the players let him be and their role in his success goes overlooked (in the media) a bit.

Would you get rid of him?

Of course not, that wasn't the point I was trying to make at all. The point is they give all the credit to Burgess like the players aren't actually involved in the process at all. They both deserve credit for the results, not just Burgess.

By the same token it was our players fault for all the hamstrings a few years ago?

My point was that while the players have some buy in it is the management of the players that is critical and that is 100% Burgess

Some buy in? They need to be 100% committed to following Burgess for him to get the results he does.

Most players are brain dead, they need someone like Burgess to tell them what to do to succeed.
All credit should be upon Burgess.
2 year spike in full swing 💪

So you want the media to mention the players almost every time Burgess receives praise?

Imo the players are getting plenty of praise. How many times have you heard the phrase 'quick footed crows' (Or something along those lines) within the past week? Burgess deserves praise for the work he's done up to this point - but I disagree that it's one-sided.

Every time this thread is bumped I expect that an EPL club have signed him up.

It will happen one day. Just hope there some institutional learning from the great man. ..

Money talks, however the only reason he came back to Adelaide was for his family.

Fairly certain we are paying him handsomely and he's itched that scratch in England so quietly confident he'll hang around.

Yep he's not going anywhere. Loving his time at the club is what I've heard.

Bit silly. This is the domain he will be spoken about primarily. Players will be spoken about primarily for their onfield performances. By your logic everyone should be in every discussion about onfield performance since what players do on field is made possible in some way by coaches, fitness staff etc. Sounds exhausting and convoluted.

This is all a bit chicken and egg but at the end of the day the players, even though they may do the actual work, follow his instructions. Their fitness is ultimately his body of work and he is accountable. When shit hits the fan in that department it isn't the players who bear equal responsibility (short of them not following the instructions).

So OF COURSE, the players had to do the program, but from every other consideration this is Burgess and team.

Again this is his only realm for feedback so why wouldn't we want him celebrated?

And to those who think it's luck - you may want to consider that quality fitness and conditioning programs quite literally reduce the chances of injury so yeah, while there is no way to 100% prevent injury, it isn't necessarily good luck we have been so healthy, it's more the absence of bad luck. And we cannot call Burgess' work luck, he simply has too many runs on the board in too many places.
