There's a whisky bar in Hobart that sells it by the shot. I've been tempted but even that is above my budget lol.

It would prolly be the smart thing and go do a Tassy Whisky tour of the distilleries/food...mate from last night's tasting did it and recommends it.
These days I canna justify the expense of travel...so the odd bottle it tis!

Larks do a tasting paddle. Not a bad way to try.
They have a really nice peaty blend I think, but pricey.

Yes they do...peat is certainly an acquired taste...personally I leave it alone...imo I find it interferes with the flavour profiles and complexities...
But each to their own!

I actually booked on a Tassie whisky tour during COVID. The state government were giving away vouchers to boost local businesses. The tour company cancelled it a couple of days before it was gonna happen.
