When was the last time both previous year grand finalists missed the finals?

It hasn’t happened in the AFL era and given Hawthorn played in every GF from 1983 to 1989 and North Melbourne played in every GF from 1974 to 1978, Collingwood in every GF from 1979 to 1982, it goes back even further than that.

Is it possible in our bye week to book a training run on the MCG? Or maybe even in pre season? Is that something that we would even be able to do.
Don't the players & coaches usually have a break?

I just read it was 1963.

3/4 (forgot to put tips in, defaulted to away teams. May let it ride, with the exception of C'wood)
Good time to forget your tips it seems... I have 0/4 for the adelaide big footy comp and 1/4 for the big footy main comp. So far the dogs are losing and the dons winning, which gives me a further 1/2 for both. It is a very tough tipping week so far.

The top 4 is looking like the Bradbury race at the moment. I don't think we're good enough for top 4, but it's interesting to see Hawthorn defeat St Kilda, Fremantle defeat Melbourne, and GWS defeat Geelong at Geelong all in the same round. Gold Coast has a handy lead over the Bulldogs right now.

Yes, yes, it's only Squiggle, but it's suggesting that Brisbane are the strongest side in it at the moment, making tomorrow a good test despite being at home:

That both teams missed the finals after playing in the Grandfinal?
I thought it was amazing in 2017 when it emerged that not a single player from Richmond or the Crows had played in a grand final - the first grand final since the very first VFL grand final where neither side had a grand final player. And of course that game started the chain again - 44 blokes, many of whom are still playing, who played that day.

Given how bad our away form has been, I have no confidence in winning.

Our away games have been GWS, Haw, Geel and Bulldogs.

We should never lost the first round after kicking 4.9.

Geelong and Bulldogs were against pretty reasonable opposition.

Watching the GC vs Bullies game I’m not sure there seems much system by GC going forward. Bulldogs dominating insides 50’s with little return.
