A former American colleague from the 70s recently visited from the USA with his wife. For dinner, I guided them to Topolinos in Fitzroy St as they fancied pizza and pasta. We had a momentary wait next to the pizza oven to be seated, which gave Tim enough time to see that this place was fairly serious about its pizzas.

Once we were seated, the waitress arrived to take our orders. Tim's wife ordered pasta, then Tim announced that he wanted a custom made pizza - ham and pineapple. 'It's already on the menu', the waitress told him. 'It's called an Hawaiian pizza here'.

I couldn't believe the guy had lived here for 4 years back in the late 70's, when I am sure Hawaiian pizzas were widely available.
Reminds me of the sign outside a venue.. "all Americans must be accompanied by an adult"

Mrs35 is in QLD for a few weeks after our gorgeous new grandson was born❤️. So I’ve been ’roughing‘ it batching for the past 2 weeks. Ahh bliss.
Im retired but do a casual school bus run and the company sponsor at todays race meet so we get a fully catered day out at the course in the sponsors rooms. Free beers, food and a bus doing the rounds picking up and dropping home for whoever wants it. Supposed to be a cracker of a south coast day at 18 degrees as well.
Covid still live and ‘well’ around hear with less of the early hysteria, is Wordle still about or some new trending thing going?
Fly up in a few weeks to see the grandies which will be awesome. Also theme park it 😍
The race course at Pambula?

Lol. Any specific faults, or just an emotional outburst from yourself?
you use emotional in the same fashion Voss uses nourishing, just a catch line.

But back to dr John, my first gripe is he misrepresents himself as a medical doctor, when in fact his dr title is from a phd in nursing education. At the start of the pandemic his videos were unremarkable, focusing on hospitalisation and how the healthcare system was straining to keep up, something within his field of expertise.

As things progressed he was getting clicks from antivaxers and started tailoring content to them for the clicks, an early proponent of ivermectin, he went a lot further than most though, misrepresenting data and declaring it an unequivocal cure, even the most fervent ivermectin proponents didn’t go that far.

Since then he’s continued to tailor content to a specific audience, misrepresenting data to tell them what they want to believe. It’s just a revenue stream for him now, generating clicks and monetising content.

So yes a grifter.

Every now and then you write what you think is an absolute zinger of a post, and then just sit back to watch the likes flood in….

… and then as you go old and grey waiting, you realise you’re not nearly as funny as you think.

Yeah I see that as being very mildly amusing, as in “funny” but not enough to make you even smirk.

EDIT: Or did you mean go old and grey looking at my phone like Pat? Because that’s also very apt…

In "Marine Curiosity" shop plus other stuff in Portarlington - "fun fact" posted outside the shop - the Titanic had 36,000 apples on board when she sailed

You can replace them for concussion. He fields at first skip. Smith or Carey could dive across smash him in the head and concuss him. Or perhaps just an "errant" throw. There are options.
There are theories re DW and concussion
