I'm sure there are reasons for everything, player delistings, sacked coaches, whatever but the simple facts are we are Port Adelaide, Ken Hinkley has been here a decade for not even a Grand Final appearance, not good enough, not acceptable. Part ways and move on, I don't care if it's Ken or Hardwick, 10 years is a fair go, it's okay in any other sport and at any other AFL club, so why not Port.

Sack Hinkley.

Dale Thomas and Nathan Jones on the LISTNR ‘Footy Talk’ pod.

“Port should be smashing Ken’s door down! He’s got them in the palm of his hand! I had them out of the eight! They’re the biggest bolter! Especially after they started zip-three!”

🤪
Zip three? lol

Hardwick has no desire to live in Adelaide, but he is opened to living in GC.

I've heard Hinkley gets extended if they finish top 4. That extension might be lengthened depending on finals results.

Also rumour is Port are already in a succession plan (Hinkley -> Carr). That it was initially planned to hand over in 2024 with Carr as HC, but it has covertly been bought forward after Tredrea's early season comments and crisis meetings the week after. Since then Carr has effectively been calling the shots (with assistants) from the box, with Ken mentoring and managing players from the boundary, as well as handling the media. This setup might continue into 2024 if we finish top 4 and all parties are happy.

"Handling the media" LOL.

There's no doubt Whateley has been around the Hinkley estate to check out the roller blinds & sample Donna's BBQ'd rissoles.

HE'S PASSED THE EXAM WITH FLYING COLOURS & EARN'T A 3 YEAR DEAL.. fukc me lol

I was so incensed I was one of the ones who texted in.

The interaction between Brent and the Ogg-monster after Merchant's character is upset at being called a goggle eyed monster is one of the most brilliant heart -warning / -breaking bits of tele

When he answers "Nathan" and half sobs to the question what's your real name

Kills me

We are not happy.

It's fraud, it's deceitful.

It reflects poorly on the club in not publicly acknowledging the work Josh has put in.

It reflects poorly on Wazza for actually calling the club out on the facts of life under Ken.

Club want to make it right come out and say Wazza was right and we have won 13 straight under Josh Carr.

The great irony of Ken.

Years and years of unconditional support, even when we were bloody average and missing finals, but the season where he has us looking the best we've looked, and the media is finally starting to ask some questions and be open to us not handing him an extension right ****ing now*

*the usual exceptions apply

Too bad Ken had to use an abacus for his exam circa 2013-2017 when everyone else was using a calculator.

And if you don't buy that, do me a favour - take the current best 23 and then tell me who you would replace in it from any list we had between 2013-2017. If you can't pick more than 11 players, it wasn't really a premiership calibre list, was it?

2014:

B: Hombsch (14), Carlile (14), Jonas (14)
HB: Broadbent (14), AA (23), Houston (23)
C: Polec (14), Boak (14), White (14)
HF: Wingard (14), Marshall (23), SPP (23)
F: Gray (14), Schulz (14), Finlayson (23)

R: Lobbe (14), Butters (23), Rozee (23)

I: Kornes (14), Wines (23), Bergman (23), Westhoff (14)
SUB: Take your pick from Ebert, Hartlett, Burton, Farrell, JHF

2014 - 13 players
2023 - 9 players
+ Sub

I guess history will show it wasn't good enough. But i'd also say not every premiership season is equal. 2014 was a tough year imo. This year looks a bit weaker
