Got to be a shoe in for rising star. Jess hogan is only FWD to kick more goals than Amiss in his rising star season.
Can't wait to see him after he has done a full pre-season
Always been a 2 horse race since Ashcroft went down.Amiss top 15 for goals. Sheezel top 10 for disposals. Obviously pending the rest of the round.
Sheezel deserves it, but Ashcroft and Owens do not deserve it more than Amiss
Bit of time on the leg press in the gym should sort that. He's only a kid, probably hasn't even finished growing. My only concern is his set shots outside 50
For sure 100% agreeBit of time on the leg press in the gym should sort that. He's only a kid, probably hasn't even finished growing.
I agree he’s got similarities to Cameron but also a bit more of a true full forward like Josh Kennedy IMO.As much as like the look of some of what JVR has done I don’t think there would be anyone saying we got this pick wrong.
Yeah yeah we could have had both but from the 2 Jye goes first every time.
Stone cold star already. Brilliant contested marking with his body work & positioning which will only get better as he gets stronger. Brilliant lead up & mark player, very good below his knees in general play & can kick a snap.
I don’t think it’s an exaggeration to liken him to Jeremy Cameron. Maybe not as long a kick but better at using his body for contested marks.
Maybe, but I'll take 60 goals from inside 45 all day.My only concern is his set shots outside 50
Cameron's standout trait is athleticism. Don't reckon Jye has that but what I do think he has is better/as good everything else. At least as talented at contested marking, leading patterns, body work and ground ball.As much as like the look of some of what JVR has done I don’t think there would be anyone saying we got this pick wrong.

Treacy should be the target for the longer distance kicks at goal, Amiss the deepest key forward.Maybe, but I'll take 60 goals from inside 45 all day.
Sturt can kick them from outside 50 as well.Treacy should be the target for the longer distance kicks at goal, Amiss the deepest key forward.
41 goals has exceeded the expectations of most. He’s the smartest and cleanest tall we’ve had forward of centre since Pavlich. Absolute jet.
He also kicked the same as Hogan this year, with a higher accuracy %.
Always liked Nathan Schmook.

RISING STAR: Our reporters pick this year's winner
Who'll take out the Ron Evans Medal this year? Our experts have their saywww.afl.com.au
Spot on. The two people in that article who ranked him higher than 4th were the two not Vic based - Whiting in Brisbane (who had him 2nd behind Ashcroft) and our boy Nathan. Some idiots ranked him 4th out of 5. Nuts. The afl is amateur hour. So called experts are no better than couch potatoes watching 2-3 games a week. They would have seen Amiss 3-4x max through the year.
