List Mgmt. 2023 AFL Draft

I like McKercher more than Duursma, there's a clear top 3 for me. I wonder if teams will be wary about McKercher with a Tassie team on the horizon and whether they'll cause him to slide a bit - will be just coming into his prime when they arrive.
Wouldn’t think so. With sanders, it seems north could take McKercher and Sanders and back themselves to hold on to them. Not many Tassie boys want to leave Melbourne after a couple of years.

So what’s the trait that we should look for?

The draft has been very interesting over the past few years and looks to be much much weaker than it has been historically. SA prospects seem to struggle more than others (maybe I’m imagining this?) and there are clear talents, Hateley/Fogarty, that just don’t seem to come on like they should. Then you have guns throughout the year, Paddy Dow and Lochie O’Brien, that just don’t ever get going but people seem to agree they got taken about where they should have.

So is there a key trait or psych profile that we should select on?

There are some good prospects in and around our two first picks.

We will probably use them to get some help but if not, I really like Lance Collard and Clay Hall.
Taylor Goad, Logan Morris, Jack Delean and Ashton Moir are also around that area.
We would have to trade up for Delean.
But yeah, I'm all in on Lance Collard.

I don't know if I'm just hung up on the kid, but Kobe Ryan picked up 29 touches, 5 clearances, 9 tackles and a goal, plus the game-winning turnover in the dying seconds for West to get up after the siren on the weekend.

Would love to pick him up in this draft with a late pick.
I liked the look of him for this year’s mid-season draft.✅

Probably unlucky not to get a chance somewhere, but we have our midfield covered. Our gaps are around the need for a KPD, mature Ruck and a quick quality small.

Can never have too much midfield depth plus we'll likely lose Dumont at the end of the season so I'm happy for him to be replaced with Ryan.

I feel we'll trade in a KPD (maybe two) and a ruck.

While we have an excellent, exciting group of Mids, we are not going to go injury free next year with Rozee, Butters, Horne-Francis, Duursma, Bergman, Drew and Jackson. Nor are we going to go injury free with that lot for the next 4 years. We need to bring in a midfielder every year. Mead and these lads will be turned over in due time, think he survives the cut this year.

Vigo hitting his straps the past month at School and under 18s level.

When he played SA think he beat Goad. I'm probably thinking he's got more talent now and more upside.

#32 Vigo Visentini
After a competitive battle with fellow Vic Metro ruck Will Green, Visentini faced another solid matchup in Boston Dowling, wearing the opposite number 32. The 203cm tall talent won a season-high 19 disposals and 33 hitouts, making his presence felt around the contest and proving strong in his ruck craft. Needless to say, Sandringham’s prolific midfielders were well fed.

Leap at centre looKs higher and tapping from top of leap compared to hayes.

What's The knock on Kobe Ryan? Kicking damage?
Good question. He averaged 23.2 disposals at a healthy 76% efficiency. 5 clearances, 8 tackles, 3 inside 50’s, 2 rebound 50’s and 7 goals in 18 games.

Given our first pick this year will likely be somewhere around the last handful in the draft surely he’s in our sights along with Hagan.

The late season run by Vigo continues.

Can not find the stats but he was up against Will Green in the ruck. Green is rated. Both had their 18th birthday last week not a bad match up.

THE LATEST Phantom Form Guide rankings are in and a number of new faces have been added to the September edition.
In AFL.com.au's third monthly ranking of the best 2023 draft prospects, we have pushed it out to the top 30 players.
With a low number of picks expected to be used at this year's national draft, this is likely to account for more than half of the draft pool. As always, this ranking does not take into account where bids will come on Academy or father-son prospects and is a pure ranking of the best talents. With the season about to be wrapped up for draftees, the Phantom Form Guide will be updated again in October after the Draft Combine and again in November before names are called.

Will Green he has maybe a bit higher than he's going to end up.

He's still 4-5 years of development to be done there.

He's a chance to slide

Thinking we get Vigo for nothing but if Green slides to our 37 if we hold on to it I'd take Green as well.

Hyphenated surnames, which I believe had their origins from there being no males on the mother's side of the family to carry on the name are becoming more common nowadays, but with something like Billy `McGee Galimberti' maybe the Irish side of his family could have put the cue in the rack and been happy with plain old Galimberti.

`Calsher' Dear is another, maybe it's an old family name but it does sound like some made up BS!

Back to the real footy stuff :), I'm liking those stats for the younger Visentini he sounds like a genuine prospect who would definitely be worth a late pick.
