Three pages on a 10 min game? Let me add to it šŸ˜ƒ

Thought he was ok. Only thing I didn't like was him playing for a free very late instead of just taking the tackle and forcing a stoppage. Was no need for it and gave Dees a chance at a goal.

It was definitely the right move not to start all our small forwards. With the lack of entries this was not a game for them. Hard to make a case for all of them playing any remaining final. With Nick back it's possible Jack misses but probably more likely to be sub again.
I didnā€™t think he was playing for the free though, I thought he was trying to duck out of the tackle, dropped his knees and was backing out.

But given his history I can see why itā€™s automaticity assumed heā€™s playing for the free.

Not the greatest sub game, think he'll miss the prelim. His lack of leg speed was very obvious especially against tired legs.

Had 13%TOG, got 4 disposals, couple of tackles and a couple of clearancesā€¦. As a small forwardā€¦ when the footy was locked in D50ā€¦. Just how much more should we have expected?

Maybe, I'd have to take another look. Either way, a stoppage is what we wanted there, should have just allowed the tackle.

Letā€™s be real. No one in our defence last night will be in trouble, unless Maynard goes out for suspension. Even if they were, you would go like for like and bring in Noble/Frampton depending who it is and then you still need one more out for Daicos. You take in one less of our half forward flankers/pocket types and possibly make Markov the sub.

Elliott and Hill are automatic selections, McCreery, Adams, Ginnivan and Lipinski are not. Of them Iā€™d keep the ones that can actually win a contested ball.

I guess the possible inclusion of N Daicos at half back or the possible return of Noble (depending upon opponent Iā€™d assume) into the defence the only real reasons to unsettle the back 7 from Thursday (assuming Maynard is available).

As I said, it was his 2 critical mistakes that lower the rating for his game.

It was a high pressure final FFS, in slippery conditions, there were mistakes aplenty. His lower the rating of his game no more than those of others so not sure why you choose to single them out for special mention.

Collingwood livewire Jack Ginnivan has given back to one of his junior clubs as they prepare for a grand final on Saturday.
The former Newstead junior sent a video message to the next generation of Kangaroos stars ahead of their game against Natte Bealiba in the Maryborough Castlemaine District under-11.5 decider.

Ginnivan was the first player from Newstead to be drafted into the AFL after being selected as a rookie by the Magpies in 2020.

Itā€™s been nine years since he, as an 11-year-old, guided the Kangaroos to the under-12 premiership with a win over Campbells Creek.

He kicked 119 goals, including 12 hauls of more than five goals, to become just the second person, after his father, to kick 100 goals in a season for the club.

Ginnivan would continue to play for Newstead until he moved to Strathfieldsaye and then the Bendigo Pioneers before he was drafted.

In the message to the players he told them to embrace the day and enjoy the occasion.

ā€œI just want to say best wishes on the weekend, itā€™s been nine years since I played in the grand final in my under-12s for Newstead and we won,ā€ he said.

ā€œItā€™s a pretty cool time for you, I hope you have so much fun out there, kick a few goals and beat Natte Bealiba and do Newstead proud.

ā€œSo good luck from me and all the Collingwood boys and go well.ā€

Newstead takes on Natte Bealiba at 8am at Princes Park.

Disgraceful that theyā€™re putting up a spread on junior football games.

For what itā€™s worth, Iā€™d take the over 11.5 though.

Was he playing as a small forward? Don't think he got forward of centre at all. I thought he was good though - not sure how much more you can expect from a sub. Some seem to think naming someone as the sub should transform them into Dusty Martin or Toby Greene to tear a quarter apart.
