Lever kicking the ball long down the line with 90 seconds to go is certainly a choice. And then he barely competed for the ball in that last 20 seconds when it was on the deck (yes, I realise he's never been good below the knees).

This was odd. McDonald had given them little and a fresh forward, especially one who has a good long kick when on, could have made a difference.

Gawn cost them three goals by missing two sitters and then inexplicably spoiling an Oliver goal on the goal line.

Back to back straight sets out for the Dees. Is Goodwin a good coach? Melbourne won a covid premiership. A premiership that would be won by the team who could stay mentally strong during those covid times.
