Same rule applies to this thread as other years, keep it on topic about the kids.
Don’t get bogged down on what other teams might do or where they will finish.

Trade speculation belongs here.

That's also where you can discuss your mock drafts or pick trades.

Any McCabe, Dear or Maginness talk belongs here.

Leake gave AFL recruiters a lot to think about in his final game of the season. He started in the forward line and kicked two impressive goals, then moved into the midfield for the final three quarters of the game. After taking some time to get going, his final quarter as a midfielder was very strong, using his size, strength and speed to find the footy inside the contest and on the spread. Leake looms as an intriguing prospect.

Thank you so much for posting these.

I really like what I see from Leake in this video. Very versatile, athletic, good skills but most importantly he has the will to compete, get involved, and make things happen.

I’d love to see more of him as a forward bc that scoop and snap was sublime. Surprising to read that he played mostly as a halfback. He really can play everywhere it seems.

What’s he like as a forward target and does he have good hands in a marking contest?

He’s a great prospect for a second round pick and potentially a Gunston-type medium forward, but perhaps more suited to playing up the ground.

The problem with Leake is that he did play as a defender for most of the season so his exposure as a forward or mid is limited which makes it tougher to judge. I might be wrong, but I feel like his biggest question mark is his hands. They're not exactly soft, everything seems to bounce off him a bit. Forward he plays like an athletic medium forward. He can lead to space, he can use his athleticism to jump into marking contests, he can crumb decently. But there's more risk there than other prospects because we've only seen it in a handful of games this season.

You can stream u/18’s grand final right now on the Coates talent league app.

Dragons v Rangers
Who can get a look at Watson, Sanders, Winsder and dear.

Who is most likely to be that Taylor/weitering/Andrews/Moore/May tall ‘anchor’ kpp type that can beat an elite opponent and also intercept? O’Sullivan? Murphy? Seems like curtain more intercept/rebound.

Shifter Sheehan just compared Tyson Sruk to Sam Mitchell as a player, what a compliment! An I rate shifter Sheehans opinion.

Dear has gone into the ruck and is having a good run at it!

Hey Davo-27 do you rate this kid?

Looks like he would be converted into an athletic KPD at AFL level. Reminds me a bit of Liam Jones.

He was good once he joined WA at the champs 196cm KPD that has been playing ruck in the wafl colts finals, got bog in gf I believe?, apparently has good athletic testing so might be a bolter, bigfooty has named him ZZ Top :D

Nate Caddy is a centimetre taller than what Charlie Curnow was in his draft year…

Only saw this clip and the athleticism stands out for sure!

And a centimetre shorter than he was last year (192cm) according to reports. A Benjamin Button of sorts.

Curtin signed off on his draft year by helping Claremont to another WAFL Colts premiership. He was a significant presence in the midfield for the first three quarters, helping Claremont dominate in that area, before being dropped back into defense in the fourth to try and help stem the tide with Perth controlling territory. One knock on his performance for the day was his kicking efficiency which was uncharacteristically poor.

As for our KPP issues, I think there's a few we could get after the 1st 20 odd picks have been done

Archer Reid 203cm kpf/ruck, has been a little underwhelming in the big games and champs, but has had a few good games for Gippsland, inconsistent which holds him back(over 2 years of inconsistent form unfortunately) very TOB vibes unfortunately where he has a lovely kicking action, but can go missing and can drop marks he should take, but if he gets it right, could be good

Logan Morris 192cm kpf, consistent goal scorer and good player, the cons are his height and I'm unsure on his athletic profile, I like how he performs under pressure and had a good champs playing in defence for the 1st 2 games and forward the last 2 games, combine is key here to determine if he is a real option at kpf or not at the next level, if not then as a 3rd tall he becomes less valuable of an option imo

Zane Zakostelsky 196cm kpd, played well at champs, athletic good footy iq, BOG in the wafl colts GF, could bolt, but 1 to consider as a bargain, I really like this player for us.

Wil Dawson 200cm kpf/kpd, strong in the air, kicked 4 gls in VC trials, but then played well in defence taking some strong marks, combine could determine his worth, but a good option mid draft imo, I also really like this player for us.

Evan Smith 199cm kpf/ruck, played some good footy for WA at the champs in the forward line, looked pretty athletic, but combine testing might be needed, I didn't get to see a lot of him so this is a more speculative one, but I liked what I have seen

There's a few rucks worth picking up this year too, but I'm not sure if we're looking for rucks? We have Reeves, Meek and Tucker, Ramsden is more forward who can ruck? So I'm not sure we are in the market for rucks, but if we are there's around 4-6 rucks of good standing available this year, Lachlan Smith, Vigo Visentini, Will Green, Taylor Goad, Mitch Edwards and Ethan Read heading the list imo.

Just come across this player and was about to post here.

Like the look of this guy, 196kg, 90kg, wingspan of 7ft and vertical leap of 85cm.

You'd think he wouldn't get past the 20s?

I thought Zane has been playing as an undersized ruckman more than a KPD this year.

All I know is that if his middle initial is also Z then Sleepy Mark will be all over him. 🥱💤
