Same rule applies to this thread as other years, keep it on topic about the kids.
Don’t get bogged down on what other teams might do or where they will finish.

Trade speculation belongs here.

That's also where you can discuss your mock drafts or pick trades.

Any McCabe, Dear or Maginness talk belongs here.

FWIW, looks like we will be picking between Curtin and Watson at pick 4. North to take Colby and Zane.

Happy if we close the Curtin.

Arie's long and accurate kicking was on full display in this game as he racked up 10 rebound 50s as well as a fantastic running goal from well outside 50. He also showed some contested and intercept marking ability which draft watchers have been keen to see more of.

It's easy to be impressed by his big kicking ability, but looking closer at his field kicking and it's a surprise that he seems to miss so many targets despite his beautiful kicking action and power. Many of his possessions are playing on from a kick out and his intercept marks are often unopposed or the opposition outnumbered at the fall of the ball from a pressured kick.

I don't see much evidence of smart decision-making, good ball use or handling, disposal effectiveness, directing play or winning contests. What exactly does he do so well that he'd be worth a pick in the 20-25 range?

Good size and BIG kick - that's just about it.
What am I missing?

Firstly, moronic by kangaroos.. To ignore a gaping hole in their line up and add players in two areas they are stacked.. terrible list management. I’d take Curtin. Too good to pass on..
Is he?

I'm hopeful but not convinced.

Would much rather McKercher & probs Duursma as well.

How exactly does this put pressure on west coast? It they want Curtin, they pick him. If they want Reid, they pick him.
I think the view is that they can get Curtin plus extra for giving up Reid. With North threatening to take Curtin, it means WC can't trade with anyone else, forcing them to trade with North if they want that extra.

Leake gave AFL recruiters a lot to think about in his final game of the season. He started in the forward line and kicked two impressive goals, then moved into the midfield for the final three quarters of the game. After taking some time to get going, his final quarter as a midfielder was very strong, using his size, strength and speed to find the footy inside the contest and on the spread. Leake looms as an intriguing prospect.
