Plan A is offering us something for pick 1, unlike what other eagles supporters are saying, I believe 2, 14 and one of your future first round priority picks gets it done. If both your future PPs are to be used to get GC's first round pick then we'll probably just huff and puff and accept Port's first pick by itself.I'm not confident. Its like the PSD empty threat.
Have a plan A and a plan B. Plan A is not trade or factor in Reid. Plan B kicks in during our 5 minute interval when WC pick Curtain with 1.
You ain't from here bud you can go from northern suburbs to Echuca at 110kmh practically in a straight line on the Hume. Takes a few hours and is very common for those of us that visit that area on the Murray often. You can’t do that with you guys either, you do realise he lives hours away from any Melbourne based club lol?
Yeah, I don't think that negotiations will be as aggressive as fans on here. They'll ask what each other want and if its way off then they'll keep moving. If its close then they'll figure it out.Plan A is offering us something for pick 1, unlike what other eagles supporters are saying, I believe 2, 14 and one of your future first round priority picks gets it done. Plan B is you blokes are happy with 2 and 3, and rather keep 14, in which case we just take Reid with 1 and back ourselves in to keep him past the three or so initial years of his contract.
There is plenty of respect between the clubs, I imagine of those two scenarios will happen imo but I guess you never know.
A WC fan discussing Harley Reid rationally??unlike what other eagles supporters are saying, I believe 2, 14 and one of your future first round priority picks gets it done.
Didn’t see much respect when I was at Optus Stadium watching North v WCE. My wife was told to go home, you’re not welcome here and she said I’ve been living here for 20 years. Worst fans EVER and that includes the Pies at Vic Park. There is plenty of respect between the clubs
Sorry for that experience mate, there is always an incident or two at home games I've been to with eagles supporters to opposition and its honestly embarrassing. But I refer to respect between administrations and the clubs themselves.Didn’t see much respect when I was at Optus Stadium watching North v WCE. BF weirdos bang on like they have some say in decisions their club is making.

Definitely. Won’t be long before West Coast are challenging and I’ll get back to healthily despising your mob. There is plenty of respect between the clubs
There aren’t as many problems as people think. Its depth issues and around 4 starting on field positions. Depending on youth vs mature talent is more or less a time variable and nothing more.We felt the same way with the JHF offers, he was ahead of the pack because Daicos and Darcy weren't in the open market, but I don't think Callaghan was as far away as some people make it out to be. GWS rated him ahead of Daicos... I don't share that opinion but he was a very good talent, we never got an offer that would have allowed us to get Callaghan, Crows were the closest but he would have been long gone.
It ultimately comes down to how different clubs see the talent in the draft, imo there is a smaller gap between Reid and the next best option than say going from Sheezel/Wardlaw to Ginbey, I even think Phillipou was a better prospect. Not massively, but to me at least there seems to be an inconsistent approach between last year and this year. I just find it curious, why the difference from the club. If I was in WCE's shoes I'd take Reid too... but I wouldn't have downgraded pick 2 last year either. I wanted Wardlaw more than I wanted Sheezel but I am glad we were able to get both.
Why would you pass on Sheezel or Wardlaw for Ginbey last year and then say we aren't going to downgrade from 1 to 2 and get the local boy Curtin plus a host of other picks. Did they regret trading last year?
I agree, it would make more sense for us to hit the draft with as many picks as we can get. I think it is too difficult to fix all the problems via the draft, or try to. You should target the best talent and try and build 1/2 to 3/4 of a side and then trade for the rest, I don't think anyone has ever completely rebuilt from the draft alone.
I doubt we will try and get pick 1, we will probably be more focused on trying to get pick 4 from the Suns imo.
Traffic is a nightmare!
Care to limit it to a state?Interesting Reid has been looking at rentals in Kensington
Sad to say I haven't watched North in Perth for years, the aggro and vitriol towards opposition supporters is way over the top. Hard to sit there and listen to iceholes shouting ridiculous personal abuse at your elderly mother for cheering a North goal without getting in a confrontation... I get to Melbourne every year for 2 or 3 weeks for my North Melbourne game day fix.Didn’t see much respect when I was at Optus Stadium watching North v WCE. Haven’t gone for a couple of years but 1000% would take my (future) kids to a WAFL game over a AFL gameSad to say I haven't watched North in Perth for years, the aggro and vitriol towards opposition supporters is way over the top. The camaraderie of WAFL supporters is a stark contrast. Plenty of banter, but respect for our shared history. 7West here are the main culprit, pumping up WC fans sense of entitlement 24/7.
