He is a FA in 2 years and has a cooked foot.

Might be a smart play if we can get overs.
Starting to think you just want to see trades for the sake of seeing trades, lol.

If Petty goes, we're guaranteed to have 1-2 of McDonald, Brown and Schache playing in every game next year.

Can write off the season before it begins if that's the case.

As I said, I love Petty but I also love some good trade drama.

We could ask for Fogarty or Tilthorpe with pick 10 coming back.

Petty is worth way more to us than what he’s actually worth at the trade table. Unless Adelaide come up with an insane offer I wouldn’t be letting him go even if he wanted to.
Problem is half the time those guys end up leaving the year after and you get a worse deal

"Melbourne are closing in on securing a second top draft pick to potentially make a plunge for one of the most sought after players at the top of the draft.

Melbourne have tempted Gold Coast with pick 14 and second round draft picks in exchange for pick 11. Two industry sources said Melbourne were eager to get pick 11 to bracket with their existing first pick now at six (tied to Fremantle’s finish) to make a play for one of top few draft picks."

Two out of three ain’t bad: Kangaroos draft bonanza after Ben McKay compensation finalised

This is what we should be doing.

Making it sound like after everything well have pick 3 an nothing else lol
Honestly, I'd take it if we landed McKercher. Maybe Duursma. But McKercher is the one we should be doing everything to land.

That being said, if we surrender all that draft capital just to get in front of the Dogs and take Watson, I'm burning the club to the ground.

Agree. Otherwise hold Curtin + Wilson and F1 ransom for Reid.

Or trade Petty for pick 10 and Fogarty then hold Curtin, Wilson, Windsor and F1 ransom for Reid

Im actually keen on Watson but only if hes there at 6, i remember ppl hated the Kozzy pick when it happened too and were complaining about using a 1st on a small fwd but good small fwds are match winners. Imagine not having to play Spargo & Chandler. Be pretty nice. Having said that, id just as soon take Caddy, Curtain, Sanders or whoever Taylor decides is BPA @ 6. This moving up crap is nonsense unless we are moving up to take Reid at 1, maybe Duursma at 2 or 3 but if its gonna cost 6 and 11 which it prob is, i rkn were better just taking whoever slides out of the top group. But ye if we trade 6 and 11 to move up to 3 and i would think wed be going after Duursma and if not then pls save me a torch and lmk when the burning is taking place...

Agree, 6 is actually a bloody good pick.

If we trade up for 2 or 3, I wouldn’t want to be giving up too much extra.

Curtin + Wilson is probably better as a combo than Duursma/Watson/Sanders/Mckercher in isolation.

Maybe 3 + 15 for 6+11 could work.

North can then take Mckercher, O Sullivan and Murphy

We can take Duursma + Windsor

Agreed but i highly doubt North would do that, i rkn theyd prefer to just take Mckercher and Duursma and be done with it, rkn wed have to give up a pick in isolation to move up and if were doing that go after 1 or just dont. Like if we do something similar to what the dogs did we best be drafting someone who will win us a GF in yr 2 like LJ. The market is well and truly overpricing moving up when the players are all pretty similarly talented. Anyways in Taylor we trust i guess, dont trust Lamb though :|

They need key backs and the best 2 will conveniently fall in between there picks.

They need to shuffle to snag them. They already have a stacked midfield, more will just force some to sit in the VFL.

I’d say Sydney are low-balling because of the impending Adams trade.

Pretty pointless because the acquisitions of Jordon, Hamling and even Adams count for nothing if they don’t land Grundy.

Sydney offering 46 for Grundy is a prime example of why trade period is way too long. Both sides know it's not a serious offer, if trade period was 30 minutes long the deal would be done in 5 minutes for pick 32.

When the season is over they need to make a spectacle of something in order to stay in the news cycle. It's absurd really.
