Yeah thatās how I found the stadium for the Commonwealth Games too.Stadium needs a tram line or something. What a s**t show getting to and from there tonight

That would make a significant differenceMinimum change is a massive 10m wide pedestrian bridge across the road with bus drop off and pick ups on both sides.
The pedestrian bridge next to AAMI Park makes a big difference too so yep that is a given it should be built! They could also put LEDs into the bridge to colour it into club colours or put signage promoting the games so people see it as they drive under it.That would make a significant difference
Low hanging fruit solution before the mega bucks. Who is in charge of this? Amateurs who got jobs through nepotism?!?That would make a significant difference
Who needs to know this to get it to happen? Anyone know anyone in council?!? Or at club who can push for it?Love the two way bus drop off Billy ray. Something has to happen as itās a joke anytime a crowd is over 13k
It would be about the only good thing to come out of the never to be underestimated idiocy of Mad Mad Tom McTate of trying to host the Commonwealth Games. At the moment they would argue there's just not enough 25K+ events to justify the cost, but if the crazy gets up and we have to succumb to turning the ground over to 15 second 100m runners from the Faroe islands we might(might) get a functional public transport planWho needs to know this to get it to happen? I think we're all hoping that the upcoming 2032 Olympics will be the catalyst for the state government to fund an east-west extension from Broadbeach to Nerang Station with a stop at HBS. Especially with the recent announcement of cricket being introduced and HBS likely being one of the venues that is used due to the Gabba being occupied with the opening ceremony/athletics/closing ceremony. You'd at least expect a few Olympic cricket matches to be played at Carrara and for that reason alone I'd expect a tram extension to the stadium to at least be discussed in the lead up to the 2032 Games.Stadium needs a tram line or something. i believe nerang broadbeach rd is a state controlled road, so potentially would need to go through state government in association with stadiums australia or something like that?Who needs to know this to get it to happen? Anyone know anyone in council?!? Or at club who can push for it?

SandyToes has been made an enemy of the state in the Faroe Islands
I think Tony Cochrane had a relationship with the mayor, so no doubt Tony would have been badgering him for years about it. I did see this today but don't have full access to the article.
Theme parks supremo Bikash Randhawa has called for improved public transport to help keep tourists out of traffic, including a possible extension of the light rail to Movie World.
The Village Roadshow Theme Parks chief operating officer said better connectivity was vital to ensure tourists enjoyed a āseamless experienceā.
āWeāve got to make sure that visitors are not spending a lot of time on the road. Theyāre spending more time at attractions, at restaurants, at facilities,ā he said.
āCertainly the congestion and the issues we are seeing with traffic is a huge concern.
āI think the G:Link is fabulous, itās taken a bit of pressure, but it needs to expand and connect to more areas in my opinion.ā
The light rail terminates at Helensvale station, three kilometres as the crow flies from the front door of Movie World, and closer still to WetānāWild and the Australian Outback Spectacular.
But tourists using it to reach Village Roadshowās Oxenford parks from hotels must switch onto buses at the station for the last leg of their journey, something Mr Randhawa hopes will change.
āIt needs to be looked at. For us to have the G:Link connect between Broadbeach and Surfers Paradise into Oxenford will help local government, state government, in making sure that experience is seamless,ā he said.
āWe would love to see that. We would love to see better public transport into the theme parks.
āThis is no different to any other tourism city in the world. You look at the public transport, you look at the connectivity. It happens everywhere except for here and it needs to.ā
Council leaders have previously said they want extensions of the light rail in the cityās north to be the next cab off the rank after Stage Four to the airport is completed.
Then city planning boss Cameron Caldwell said last year: āAll the great cities in the world have great public transport and it cannot just stop at the airport but we need to see stage after stage after stage.
ā(We need to) get it to Harbour Town and beyond because we need a network that actually works and it will make a huge difference to how people move around.ā
East-West light rail connections running to Robina and Nerang from the coastal strip have also been suggested, but no concrete plans have been decided.
Mr Randhawa said he would also like to see more direct flights to Gold Coast airport from overseas, saying with the creation of Experience Gold Coast the city was heading in the right direction, but had yet to reach its full potential.
āWhatās happened with Gold Coast Airport has been tremendous. I applaud their management team. With the expansion, with the way that sits with the city, because airports are critical to our success,ā he said.
āWhat we would like to see in a perfect world is direct flights into the Gold Coast from India.
āAt the end of the day we are an island here thatās far away.
āSo what weāve got to do is to make it affordable, to get that connectivity going and we would have millions of people coming here.
āThereās no reason this city canāt be at 90 per cent occupancy all year around.ā
Speaking ahead of the Bulletinās Future Gold Coast forum at the Sea World Resort Conference Centre on Friday November 17, of which Village Roadshow Theme Parks is a major partner, Mr Randhawa said the city was playing a ācriticalā role as the gateway to Queensland and at the heart of Australiaās tourism industry.
He said he would like to see federal and state governments acknowledge that role by appointing MPs from the city to lead their tourism strategies.
āI would like to see the next Federal Tourism Minister come from this city. Iād like to see the next tourism minister at state level come from this city,ā he said.
āIt is so important we get appropriate care, get appropriate subsidies, get appropriate attention at all times, because this is exactly where it all starts for Queensland. And finishes.
āPeople come to the Gold Coast. You look at international markets, you look at India for example, typically they would pick Sydney, Gold Coast, Cairns, or itās Melbourne, Gold Coast and up to Cairns. The Gold Coast is always a part of the itinerary.
āIt is so critical. You look at the millions of people we put through the door.
āFor us to have that position, the city needs to be represented in the tourism space.
āWe are number one, we are the best city in Australia, weāve got better things than Sydney, weāve got better things than Melbourne.
āAnd we deserve that attention.ā
