Same rule applies to this thread as other years, keep it on topic about the kids.
Don’t get bogged down on what other teams might do or where they will finish.

Trade speculation belongs here.

That's also where you can discuss your mock drafts or pick trades.

Any McCabe, Dear or Maginness talk belongs here.

So assuming Crows bid on McCabe with pick 10, you're happy to not use pick 11 to match (because club rates another player higher) who we then select with pick 11 that we received when we split pick 4? And then burn all the 40+ picks we worked hard to get in to match bids?

Madness.
No what i was saying was we have a list and if mccabe is bid on before his worth we wont take him. However it is unlikely to happen we will take pick4 in the draft

Can people stop saying if we got 11 we would allow it to be eaten by a bid that would make us really stupid and our team are clearly not the suns.
If we did the dees trade for 6,11,f1 it’s likely to end up 4,f2(pies) I would think if done stand alone. Then we ontrade 11 in one of 2 scenarios the first I will do as a 3 way trade
A:
cats get 11,f1(dees), give 8,f3
Dees get 4,f2(pies),63 give 6,11,f1
Hawks get 6,8,f3(cats) give 4,f2(pies),63

B:
Dees get 4,f2(pies),63 give 6,11,f1
Freo get 11, give f1(port)
Hawks get 6,f1(port),f1(dees)

Both trades preserve our f1.
Trade A gets you 2 of osullivan /Curtin / caddy and adds the f3 we need if we also wanted to trade our f1 and go all out this draft.
Trade B gets us 1 of osullivan Curtin caddy but gives us 2 extra f1 picks, 1 to trade back in after McCabe and 1 to add to our f1 for a big fish.

If we are truly tapping out of the draft going forward let’s do in in style!

Whilst 3 team trades involving 3 first rounds, multiple 2nd and 3rds (current and future, mind you), are a dime-a-dozen on this site, they are sighted less frequently in the wild.

Maintaining a first this year and bringing in most likely a top 3 pick would be great business.

Could potentially be pick 1 next year in exchange for pick 6 this year.

I'd prefer to just stick with pick 4 and select Watson but Linda usually has good mail, so if she says we are moving back I'd hope its for this package.
Who is Linda?

One player (or two) does not make "normally".
I heard an interview with Will, hawks had hardly spoken to him , had no idea we would pick him.
hence my comment.
as to normally I honestly wouldn’t know, though I know MM and co like to keep their cards the their chest, hence the assumption.

With the players we have interviewed (most predicted to go between picks 4-12) it is clear we are ready for all different scenarios on draft night.

*We could take best available at pick 4.

*Trade our future 1st to get back into this year's first round.

*Trade pick 4 for multiple picks.

We've previously stated that this is the last year we are hoping to hit the draft fairly hard, so it looks like we're being fairly aggressive in order to bring in an extra high end talent to go with our first pick & McCabe.

Thankfully we will all find out within 72 hours.

If we are trading for picks we are doing for the specific purpose of picking up a player. That is what we will do. Pick that player(s)

So assuming Crows bid on McCabe with pick 10, you're happy to not match let Crows take McCabe and then select the player who we targeted with pick 11 that we received when we split pick 4?

Madness.

Sorry, I thought you were advocating for the poster who wanted to trade pick 4 for 6 & 11 for the purpose of using 11 on a specific player the club wanted but that would be to risk missing McCabe or having to use pick 11 to match a bid should it come prior to pick 11.

Agree. Huge risk in pick 11 being swallowed by the bid.

We'd also have to absolutely sold on Curtin if we want to do this.

Linda CRS

She was first with the mail on the Sam/Clarko succession plan.

From what I recall, hasn't been much correct mail since then.

I wouldn't be too stressed about us trading down. Some serious talent that suits us perfectly at the top end of this draft. We have access to the 4th best option from them. I'd be stunned if one of Watson, Curtin or (at a stretch) Duursma aren't in Hawthorn colours come Monday.
