It's mostly me, but i was also the one to highlight Sewell's improvement.
There are obviously caveats to my opinion.
Limited highlights being the main one, and trust in the club's judgement overrides anything I say here.

Anderson does have exceptional athleticism and brings the kind of fanatic pressure that makes me curious to see what hed be like as a pressure forward. If he can commit to that role like Puopolo did, I can see him excelling.

Otherwise, kicking is awful.
People go on about Finn Maguinness, but he is technically proficient and not actually a bad kick in most situations.
If Finn can't get a game with HIS superior athleticism and proven senior performances, Anderson is going to have a tough job becoming a senior player at Hawthorn.

In addition to his kicking, Anderson's first touch and general ball handling is terrible.
Rookie list.
This is where the criticism comes in about your posts.

You’ve admitted to seeing very little of him, but you criticise his kicking, ball handling & then say ‘rookie list’ or in another post that you hope another club picks him before our 1st pick.

If you haven’t seen him play how can you make judgements with such certainty ?

Finn has great endurance , that is the only thing he would have over anderson. I'd bet anderson beats him in every other form of testing. It is unusual how highly critical you are of him considering he will be added to the list for nothing .

If we picks him I will support him like any other player.
I just have a thing against poor skills and ball handling.
That's really the only thing I have criticised him about, and it's supported by the evidence.

I don't need to see him play an entire game to know his kicking is terrible and his hands are like concrete.
It's obvious in the clips every time he touches it, just like his impressive athleticism is obvious.

People get over excited by players we are linked to and can't accept reasonable criticism.

Like our coach says, we are not the finished product.

all first year players have room for improvement….

*Hell all players have room for improvement

Anything like Bailey Smith*, with elite speed & spread, but questionable disposal?

*not that I think Smith's kicking is diabolical but it's definitely not his strength.
*I don't consider Smith a 'competitive beast', either. Just trying to get a comparison.
The beast from the east is like Worpel and Newcombes love child. 🤣

I feel Anderson goes harder at the contest than Finn.

Cody seems to be able to find the goals as well. I feel the club has been working with Cody on kicking skills. He was at the club for his rehab.

Maybe Maginness (who can find the goals) and Anderson could fill Gunston and Bruest role in 2026.
I’d struggle to think of two players that are less like Breust and Gunston.

Please tell me where I said they actually “were Gunston and Bruest clones”. Oh that’s right I did not say that at all.

I stated they maybe able to fill there roles. Maginness playing on a forward flank like Gunston use to and hFinn offers support as a utility as well.

Cody as small pressure like Bruest was in his early days.

Anderson more than looks the goods. Clean that kicking up and you've got a genuine human meatball type midfielder/athletic profile going on.. shows some uncanny game sense at times too.

Sam Mitchell talked about Calsher Dear's competitive nature changing his view of talent.

This guy oozes it.

I posted this in another thread but have removed it as it probbaly belongs here. Someone mentioned to me (close with the Bennetts') that there was a very slight possibility that the Hawks may take Bennetts again. I don't believe it for a minute, but just putting it out there.

With our second pick in the draft instead of Cody? I can't see it happening. We could probably use another midfielder but another HFFer? Unlikely.

Thought I saw someone mention a little while ago that he hadn't nominated for the draft.

I assume TJFP was referring to the Rookie draft and not the National Draft

Only way I can think of that could feasibly let us take Bennetts again would be something like doing the 2nd round swaps with Essendon, and then doing something like Pick 28 + Ess F2 + 2xF4s for an F1 (a projected late one obv) and taking only Anderson and Bennetts in the draft (could be re-taking Gunston in the ND and taking Bennetts in the RD).
