Agreed = though the bookies would have them 1 - 3 after four rounds which is a decent hole to find yourself in.

I agree with others here that they wont have the same magical close game run.

10-12 range seems within the realm of possibility, which is remarkable.

If they beat Brisbane and are 2-2 the pick could be anywhere from 12-15.

Even that is a win!

Absolutely here for this ride, really lets me tolerate a poorer year with something else to focus on not that I think it will be anything dire. Made last year much more painful that is for sure.
Ready to bring the bad juju (not injuries) straight for all 3 teams. Clear ways this can happen for us:
Pies- Premier hangovers
Port- Ken not in a contract year
Saints- No skills on show

My guess at final picks will be 10(ours), 13(port), 17(pies), 27 (ours), 29 (saints)
Pies- 2nd
Port- 6th
Saints 7th
Freo 9th

Whilst I am loving the ride so far, GWS and Sydney have looked bloody good so far, I think the saints game will give us a much better idea of where the pies are at and what we’ll have at the trade table.

What happens is Eags therefore beat Port and their enthusiasm for Reid goes into hyperdrive but the rest of his year is very underwhelming. When they play Collingwood it is an upset like in 2022.

Port suffer injuries and form issues and finish 17th, Collingwood just continue to suck and finish bottom. We sneak into 8th spot and win a final. To end up finishing 6th.

Maybe I’m just negative naturally but geez our salary cap would be ****ed in a few years if that happened!

Still if you could somehow keep most of the list together for 2-3 years we’d be quite likely to be top four and perhaps snatch one.

I forgot to add Saint Kilda lose this weekend (undermanned) but then smash Collingwood next week. As the year goes on their form wanes as they get tired and sick of the coach preaching it’s never as good or as bad as it seems. Henry gets regular ball but the depth of kicking has gotten worse and he struggles to kick more than 25metres as he and BHill are the go to for transition chipping the ball around.

Saint Kilda finish 15th and our second round pick is in the 20’s.

Ethan Stanley comes from the clouds in the second half of the year to become a premier wingman as he starts to resemble Isaac Smith.

I also share the excitement, but it's super early days and it's not like they played North Melbourne and the Hawks.
Both Sydney and GWS are expected to push for top 4, so even if they ended up 1-3 they'd have some time to catch up.

The statistics here aren't that meaningful.
At the start of the season all the teams have a little over 5% chance of winning the premiership, but one of them will do it.
