I might be sniffing the good stuff but there is so much looking good about this as talked about in other threads (as well as what you pointed out already). I'm prepared to believe

Their game looked broken tonight which is encouraging, but I still reckon that by far the most telling change to the Pies this year is they've lost the aura. They've fallen behind in games so many times in the last 2 years and come storming home (or at least given it a good shake) but never looked likely in either game. Without the aura, the close wins don't happen and they are a 6-8 team at best even if they re-capture form. Especially when there KPFs looks dreadful.

I still think they are a likely top 6 side, even from 0-2, but there is hope!

In retrospect a game plan built around being down at 3/4 time was going to come back to bite them eventually

How many close games have they won over the last two years and after winning a flag and half the squad being over 30, just how much desire can there be in the tank to push that extra 20% to get up. Particularly if we get to a situation where finals are basically impossible.

JdG looks like he doesn't GAF and Hill looks like he spent all summer touring Australia to show everyone his normy. Even Moore looks like he's only going half tilt.

It's understandable, especially for the older dudes because its a ****tonne of effort no doubt. Especially since Fly seems intense and they've been playing on edge for 2 years. Still, early days and they have enough quality to turn it around pretty quick.

1) Play finals and top up with McDonald and at least another 1st round pick
2) Top up with McDonald and still have at least another top 10 pick to go with him

Pies were top 3 for defense last year and conceded just over 70 points a game. They've shipped an average of 108 points a game in the 2 games this year. They are totally stuffed if they don't fix their defense, fast. I'm getting twitchy in the groin already.
