Very much looking forward to Dow coming into the side to help with centre bounce clearance work

While Cordy had some costly mistakes, the good definitely outweighs the bad.

His positioning within our defensive system is class and finds himself at the right place at the right time, more often than not. It helped Collingwood don't have a gorilla KPF that can expose his size.

As RL said about Bonner in the presser, he did good things for 99 minutes but had one or two mistakes that were costly. You continue to be brave after it and not go into your shell.

Psychological safety is a vital for workplaces to thrive in 2024 and RL has created this environment for the club. What a man.

Every Saint defender got around him and gave him encouragement after it. Looks like the defensive unit is very tight.

Can I just say having just watched the replay.

How lucky are the pies with the amount of deflections or big soccer kick clearances that go STRAIGHT TO A TEAMMATE

It's one of my biggest pet peeves. For whatever reason, when we hack it out of defense, it lands perfectly on opposition chest. When they hack it out of defense, it lands perfectly on their teammates chest. I was going off my nut last night.

I swear it's been like this for years. It's like we are actually cursed in some ways.

Sorry let me clarify my point to yours.

In the second (mid to end of the quarter) we lost the ability to transition. It became a scrimmage.

We really struggle when we can’t break even from stoppage as it lets us put our own speed on the game.

So the ball would be won and go deep in D50. We rebound and can’t transition - go long and lose the next kick. Or for a stoppage and lose that.

It’s a theme across the first 2 games.

The moment we get some space to go and put speed on our ball movement. We look really good.

It’s why I felt like Caminiti might need to play if we can’t sort out those runs the good sides get and lock us down.

We need another tall who can mark or kill the ball down the line. In the first half of Q1 - King was high and it were transitioning. But no tall deep and we kept getting the pies killing us on turnover.

Is why to me Keeler is that much of a "please reach potential" as when King does become that CHF that roams or Membrey or Sharman fill that roaming role, we don;t sacrifice a tall and rely on Higgins 3 manning, instead, there's the other 2m tall bloke with agility in that square to aim at.

D50 units would then be stuck cause which one do you then cover? What do you sacrifice?

I feel a bit, Hammer probably competes with Sharman and Membrey for the same ball structurally, so not sure we then carry all of them with Ming also.

Such a hilarious read. I would be livid if that was written about us.

Yeah but it IS Owens doing the fend off.

There would be a fair few players in the comp that he would rag doll in that fashion.

That said, Daicos absolutely shirks the physical stuff. But you don't have to be a bull to be a gun.

One of my favourite moments of the night 😇❤️🤍🖤

They clearly went to the same tackling school. Identical techniques and crucially they stuck.

Watching at the ground, it looked to me that Philippou took over Wood's wing role after the injury, and he really struggled to get into the game. It's a very difficult position to play, all the more so on the massive MCG. I would really like Matteas to be given a single position for the season for his development, but his versatility is a double-edged sword.

I'm glad Jones is back and I think he has a role to play, but it's hard not to see him breaking down again at some point. Dow seems like an ideal fit for that fourth mid role who plays somewhat low time on ground and has a purely inside mid role.

They were very undisciplined. Case in point that weird front on contact free to Higgins in the goal square. Yes he'd probably have taken the mark but he basically gave away the free on purpose and made sure of it. Also Elliott on Stocker. They seemed to lose their cool.

Of course their fans will whinge but they lacked discipline in my opinion.
Frampton basically just bowled into Higgins. There was zero attempt to hide it.

If we maintain good form, who would make way for Dow in the midfield? Also, who takes Wood's role- Pou maybe, but he would really need to lift his running game.
