Considering we paid $100k to transfer...I heard it was about break even (at 70,000)

~42k - public
13,200 - AFL
14,650 - MCC inc.
(5,800 - - Vis. Tix)
Absolutely no chance we broke even for that.

There would be no point in moving it.

Watching the replay, Henry grabbed at the hammy as the Pou goal sailed through.

Think Ross may be telling porkies about severe cramp.

Hmm

I don’t see why he would have lied.

There would have been close to an hour from that Hammy grab to the Ross presser.

If it was a Hammy it would have been big last quarter news. It was only Ralph speculation.

I have seen players grab the hammy when just a cramp as well, when Doogs pipped his hammy, 10 days later he was saying he felt like he could play it felt so good.
Hopefully just a twinge.

Edit: No ice, bit of a limp, Cordy went to him, looked like Liam said Hammy, Cordy pulled a concerned face. Hopefully just sore.

It’s nice after a big win and we are all happy saying how great the kids are.

But… we look great when the ball is in constant motion and we have speed on the game.

My concern is that The first 2 weeks have shown, that if the game becomes a grind - we really struggle.

So far, I think only GWS can take us in an open game. But there would be a number of sides who would get on top in a very contested slow maul/scrimmage game at current.

Going to be very interesting with Crouch and Ross moving forward. I really hope they've made a decision that only one of them can play in the same team. I'd have Crouch in that role if he's fully fit, but Ross was solid last night.

Windhager reminds me of pre OP Luke Ball.
When watching Windy early 2022,he reminded me of Rod Keogh....both in build and style of play.

For those old enough to remember....ummmm...cough cough.......Rod was a tough, nugerty "don't get in my face" type of player.

Loved the way he played.

Watching Windy last night......he in that game was everything that I'd hoped he'd be for us in his career.

Early days but last night was very very encouraging.

Suddenly, our perennial mid field issues have light at the end of the tunnel.

I'm pumped.

I’ve torn many a hamstring, strained them, and cramped in them.

The cramp is horrifically painful, more so than the other two IMO.

Which, IMO, is why Crouch and Ross - with their bigger bodies - are still important to the team… and why we’re so bullish on Paddy Dow.

I feel a Lyon based team whatever the make up can match it in a grinding affair. Have seen them do it many times.

Lyon has balls, when we started to lose the midfield he didn't go back to the old guys, he backed Windy and Owens in. Blunt force and the ballerina. Those two are a nice combo. Windy has really nice lateral movement and speed off a step. Mitchito is like a sledge hammer enforcer.

Mitch reminds me of a rugby player, he's very hard to push over or knock off his line. Sharman was doing the role Wood usually does, his work rate was huge, he was going end to end to help out defence then running back up to make a marking target inside 50. He looked stuffed late in the game but was still running hard.

Bonner isn't perfect but he frees up Nas and Sincs. That defensive line looked like it should be problematic. Quite regularly the only guys behind the ball were Stocker, Cordy and Bonner. The reject B team guys and they held up manfully often with an outnumber inside 50.

Mitch and Marcus play for each other as well. You can see when they’re around the ball together and one is in and under the other is inspired to get in and help.

What has impressed me so far about Max King is he seems like he is involved more around contests. Averaging 16 disposals in his 2 games so far, where previous seasons the average is 9.5

Hopefully Dow is the answer with a fit Crouch alongside him - but our first 2 games have had opposition run ons that coincide with us losing the midfield battle and getting locked down.

To be fair mate. This is the furthest I think I’ve ever seen a Lyon coach side look in an attacking sense from his standard cookie cutter attacks.

There would be some give and take with that, I think we have gone for more run at the expense of a second genuine tall forward and another extractor.

I definitely walked away last night and felt there was a spot for Caminiti last night as an example.

His score involvements are comfortable up aswell. I think this is a key area as it encapsulates everything else.

2022: 6
2023: 6
2024: 10

Windhager showing that he can do that is really important. At 20, he's now looking totally ready for a full time midfield role. Would imagine there must have been a burning desire to break out after the hype around NWM and Owens over the past 12 months. Put himself right up in the discussion with that game. The stats were clearly great but he had real influence. He has genuine acceleration and can shake a tackle really well.
Don't discount one of his best mates at Melbourne finally making his debut this year and playing well. Great competitive spirit as well as friendship amongst that years Dragons boys.

Was weird - looking at the AFL team stats at 3/4 time they had Brad Hill in red with *injured.
I was really surprised. Then I saw him on the ground.

Someone's error obviously.
