If anyone wants to have a listen about what the data is saying in regards to whether we have actually gotten worse this year have a listen to this from the 9:15 mark.

I know a few people have already touched on it, but the data is also showing that our results this year have been slightly better despite actually putting out a younger team and dealing with some injuries.

And here.

I’m glad he mentions MacDonald. Plays such an important role for us in a really hard position. Cops a few knocks because he’s missed a couple of goals and presumably his hair (?), but he’s such an important player for us. Will be a gun.

Do you feel tall digging that up? Maybe I'll go back through your posting history and do the same.

The fact is that we are still yet to beat a team with a winning record this season. Yes, things are starting to look up but when I posted that a few weeks ago we were a laughing stock.

Anyway, I'll put you on ignore and let you get back to your echo chamber.
You went hard and negative early.

No problem with someone reminding others of what had been posted.

Fact is we are a side who are probably going to float around 11th - 14th for the remainder of the year. If that happens, it’s an improvement.

To suggest after the GC game that recruiting and coaching was all wrong was alarmist and frankly a big over-reaction.

We won 7 games last year. Just before the halfway mark, we have won 4. Would suggest the club has moved forward and that’s on the back of good recruiting and coaching.

We are not world beaters, and probably won’t be for a while yet, but I’m enjoying what I see as prudent and reliable progress.

👍

I make no apologies for my opinion. And I certainly don’t walk away from it. My so called “overly” pessimistic view is far from being disproven. We have shown signs of improvement over the past month but we are not very far advanced on where we were last season.

As for your final comment, given you have no idea about me, or my history supporting the club (nor the money I have put into it) your final salvo can be dismissed without consideration.

I, like you are entitled to my opinion. I do not appreciate people dragging up posts from the past as some sort of gotcha moment. It lacks class and I certainly wouldn’t do it to anyone else.

Got it?
Rubbbish.
Accountability is good.
You’re having a sook.

“Not very far advanced” on last season.

Not sure what you were expecting.
We’re well ahead imo.

Fair point. But we are also 4 and 7 and we were 0-5 IIRC and coming off a disgraceful performance against the Gold Coast when I made those comments. People have quickly forgotten that we beat both grand finalists last season so I am not sure how anybody can claim with certainty that we have improved, or improved significantly. I absolutely acknowledge that there are green shoots but my comments at the time were entirely justifiable given how were were playing.

And again, I have no issue with people disagreeing with me. My issue is with people who trawl old comments and throw them back at the person making them when they think they've caught them out for getting something wrong. This is not Bay 13. Intelligent people reserve the right to change their opinion as the facts change. I am not yet of the opinion that we (or Sam) are on the right path. I hope that I come around to that position. We have beaten a few teams lately that are struggling, and we should have beaten Port Adelaide. We would have won that game if not for one very bad quarter of coaching (3 good quarters of coaching also to be fair) so that is something of a positive.

But until I see us beat a couple of proven teams I will reserve my judgement.
You are very much in the small minority that doesn’t think we (or Sam) are heading in the right direction/ on the right path. The majority of our list is young (25 and under) and trending upwards. Sometimes we need to concede we got it wrong. I have conceded that this time last year I thought Meek wasn’t up to it!

We are a fickle lot. Last year meek had no friends. This year it’s ‘let’s hoe we don’t have reeves for more than a week.

We are fortunate to have pretty good cover and Reeves will be grabbing his chance for sure

When I look at our current midfield, I don't see any absolute standouts. I don't see a Cripps, Daicos, Bont or Fyfe/Danger at their respective peaks. Day is probably the most likely to get to that level, but I doubt it (hope he proves me wrong). What I do see is grunt, skill and evenness (which I think is a trait worth having in a midfield). I see someone stepping up when one of the others is having a bad day, or a run of down form. I think that evenness will stand us in very good stead for the future.

If we can get them all playing well at the same time, we're well on our way to our next lot of silverware....
Day is Bontempelli, just younger.

Is it that weird for people to change who they want to see in the team based on how players are performing?
