I'm sitting there thinking how the hell did they get to 2nd on the ladder?
What a rabble...
And how do the Cats stay so good for so long over the years..they seem to continually transition seamlessly...

Yep. Freo a live chance for picks 9,10,13…

Will be almost enough to secure Shai Bolton in a trade. Might need to add another late pick though

Sydney can win through to the grand final and then lose to Geelong in a MCG grand final despite being the best side all season. Well done AFL. Every flag we have won in this Vic centric league should be celebrated decades after the fact.

If you actually break down the statisctial analysis Sydney were easily the best team in the league and by a big margin. Until the rule change and interpretation of holding the ball and how quickly ball ups happen. Since that change there has been less structure and time for players to get back to position which is particularly important for the swans.

Since that point of time they have been a 50/50 team.

I think what tonight really shows is 4 things.

1. When you lose your 2 key distributors from defence as well as their leg speed against top teams you are ****ed (WCE don't have key distributors and leg speed from defence at all)
2. When a previously successful team has the right structure and plays to their strengths they can absolutely dominate anyone.
3. Ports talls are just shit particularly forward half are just shit.
4. This is one i've been saying for years. If your key midfielders are small they are likely to get beat up in finals. You can carry 1, particularly a libba or prestia type who are just ****ing animals at the bottom of the pack but small, slim midfielders as your key playmakers get shown up in finals. Exhibit A, Lachie Neale.

Agree with point 1. Houston AND then Farrell going down takes away a couple of massive weapons for them

Not sure on 4. Wines and JHF aren't that small or slim. And Butters went off injured at haltime so not sure how much he can be blamed

Rozee had a proper shocker though

Not my work so can’t take credit for it, but this is funny

I know this board loves the old 'credits in the bank' meme, but surely Charles Dixon has to be the captain of the credits crew at Port?

Cannot remember him ever being anything other than average.

Geelong supposedly in finals 16 times in last 18 seasons?
That is incredible, how is it even possible, what goes on down there in alphabet park?
