If one of my kids (I have 3) said Hinkley was like a dad to me... I would never ever talk to them again.
Four kids, if any of them said their coach/boss was like a father figure I’d feel like they were in good hands. These guys are early 20’s we’re trying to get the best out of them while keeping the team cohesive. Watching SPP walk up to Kenny in the change rooms and give him a huge hug made me realise why Ken’s strength is man management - SPP has spent the year doing rehab watching from the sidelines and looks as invested as anyone.

A lot of these kids have moved away from home for the first time to play for us. As a country lad who moved to the city for uni, it was certainly a challenge for me to keep on track and pass. Whilst funds were tight, I still found the resources to regularly booze on and get into all sorts.
These kids have more funds and time to get up to way more mischief than I did! Having a father figure probably isn’t a bad thing if it helps keep you on track*

****ing hell. Whatever goodwill that win just earned just got torpedoed by Rozee's post match interview. The most mission accomplished, where are the Hinkley haters now, we don't listen to the white noise, remember 2012 bullshit I've ever heard. We're definitely losing next week.
Is Connor still wondering what all those armchair critics who don't know what we're about will be saying tonight?

Never mind, mission accomplished after we barely beat 7th because Sicily missed a set shot. Really proved the critics wrong.

Reminds me of when Wanganeen was captain. Good player but not the right personality to be a leader of men.

I wouldn’t be at all surprised to see him relinquish the captaincy in the next year or two and he’ll probably perform better without the weight on his shoulders. It’s just not for him.
