finally someone gets it

they are digging down to China for a massive underground car park, when they could just dig an underpass instead and reclaim the whole area as a sports precinct.

However, Metro just blew out another $billion today - I would not be starting anything while that sort of grift is in play.

Mark my words, if we turn the first (virtual) sod on this project, they will have us on the hook for whatever they like and bankrupt the club.

That would be mostly local government and council funded as it would be available for all MCG events and park users.
I wouldn’t bother with a tunnel to the pub as that’s only relevant to a small percentage of people. The public transport users is where it is needed.

I've done a quick render below. So from the royal hotel to rixhmond station, cars go underground with the area above it being pedestrian / oval.

The metro tunnel are using all new tech, I'll get this one going with grollo dropping columns down for each lane. Dig. Drop columns. Cover. Easy! Wish I was premier!

It's actually a bloody great idea. It links the streets of richmond to Punt Rd oval and all the stadiums city side, MCG, tennis, Aami. And our training ground would be a melbourne tourist attraction, just add bars. Done! I'll put it in an email to Dan Andrews now
