The mods wouldn't let us post election stuff in the TAN and we don't want to go to the main board thread with all the mouth breathers.

So here is our own thread.

Reminder - site rules apply. And try to show some respect to your fellow human even if politics differ. We all have more in common than you realise. Go Tigers.

The whole thing just shows how ****ed the U.S. system is and it’s the same issue that is becoming increasingly prevalent in Australian politics

The media and the party’s themselves paint the leader and the figurehead AS the party not the person who essentially just the spokesperson FOR the party

Actual policy’s that the party’s are planning to implement and the plans going forward are comes glossed over and are the most impotent aspect to help you decide who you vote for

But instead it’s just stupid trivial identity politics that are people use to base who they want to support on

I have a small amount of interest on the US election just out of curiosity but none of the media that passes my eyes has actually mentioned anything about the policy’s that either party plan on implementing

Eg I’ve seen Trump mention immigration as an issue but not once have I seen what he plans to do the combat the issue

tldr - only read the 2nd paragraph if you cba reading it all

funny thing is, remember how dems supposedly hated trumps border wall & immigrant policy? well now that's kamala's policy! it totally stopped migration when he did it, right...? kamala apparently thinks the border wall is a great idea! her only problem with it apparently is that trump didn't actually get mexico to pay for it

the main difference between the two on the immigration issue is that trump is running on mass deportation which could range up to 20 million depending on how he wants to classify who he deports. trump says immigrants are "poisoning the blood of the country". trump also said of immigrants "he poisons the blood of others but preserves his own blood unadulterated"... ah, woops the second one is what hitler said of the jews! my mistake. it's also important to remember that hitler's original plan for the jews was the "madagascar plan" in which hitler planned to deport a million jews per year for 4 years, but it was too difficult so just exterminating them was easier

so while i generally hate the "trump is hitler" stuff coming from the libs, he's kinda earnt it this time around. but while trump is the face of the policy, i guarantee it's all the plan of his speech writer stephen miller, trump just the mouthpiece, which doesn't absolve him.

there's been plenty of mentions of what trump plans to do to combat the issue from his own mouth and people he campaigns with, as well as liberal media explaining why it'd be bad. however neither party are actually going to stop the USAs major contribution to their own immigrant "crisis" which is:

  1. climate refugees, trump doesn't believe in climate change, and kamala says she does but under biden they're at record highs of drilling crude oil, and kamala plans to keep fracking which won't help the climate issue
  2. plus the dems tariffed china's EVs and solar panels which are very cheap and would help the transition but america thought it was good when they exploited chinese labour by sending their factories over their and destroying america's own manufacturing industry in the long run. it's weird how they don't sanction all the clothes or other stuff china produces, but they only put tariffs on the green energy stuff... hmm... i'm not sure they care about this climate stuff, especially since the richest countries will be the least affected by it.
  3. neither will lift the embargo on cuba which has been going on for 60+ years causing refugees
  4. one that i don't think most will agree with on here but it's undoubtedly a reason for refugees is the sanctions on venezuela
  5. stopping destabalising foreign countries through coups or just interference in general through NGOs for their resources so countries can develop and not be poor which can cause economic refugees - just look how ****ing long this involvement in regime change wiki is
  6. plenty more but cba

in saying what i said i hope kamala loses because she was complicit in aiding and defending the genocide of the palestinians and has shown no sign of change, so while there's a good likelihood that trump is worse on that issue, hundreds of thousands have been killed, 85% of palestinians have been internally displaced, almost every home/school/hospital has been destroyed by israel, so there's not exactly much more trump is feasibly able to allow israel to do

but even in the case he's worse, how can you vote for someone supplying almost 70% of the military aid used to take out the mass extermination and ethnic cleansing?

if kamala killed your entire family, would you still vote for her because trump might've done worse? what's worse than your whole family being killed? what's worse than genocide?

voting for kamala just means genocide is permissible which is insane, there needs to be some consequence

maybe once trump wins, liberals will finally realise genocide is bad ! (i don't have faith they will realise that in regards to palestine unfortunately)

It with be interesting to see if America will elect a racist , sexually assaulting , climate denying, despot loving, pro-billionaire scumbag like trump.
Piss off woke dog. I would rather someone protect democracy than have a neocon Democratic Party wash taxpayer money through Ukraine only to come back in weapon orders.
