SA teams will come hard for our no 1 pick next year, if next year plays out the way we think, and Sharp is top2/3.
Just need Norfs development to stall, and we go into 25 draft with 1 and 2/3/4.
Then we either take the best 2 players in the land or trade one of those picks for multiple selections and or a F1.
I reckon Blair can continue to weave his magic over the next couple of seasons, with more an emphasis on quality over quantity.
Also might have a couple of ok FS selections over the next 2 drafts and perhaps even an academy selection.

With what?
Adelaide don't have a 2nd rounder and Port don't have a 1st
Sure they can use future picks, but not sure that's what we'll be wanting at our point of a rebuild

It’s hard to like a duursma though. If he becomes the clear no.1 though I’ll grudgingly overlook the character flaw of being related to Xavier
I feel the same ..the older brother comes across as a complete flog
Having said that the talk is this one is the best of them all and he's around 190cm ..so a good height ...but most importantly of all it seems he's very good at football which funnily enough is the really important bit

If Sharp is the best player at our pick then we pick him and not trade the pick. SA thing is irrelevant to me

There’s others ways to acquire picks , ie trading established players.
If teams want a player badly enough they’ll find a way.
If Sharp turns out to be a standout next year, they’ll be lining up.

Sure, but to get the type of picks we'd consider trading down to from Pick 1, they'd need to be trading away an absolute star. To get Pick 1 you'd need to trade a Top 5 pick and probably a Top 10, maybe with a 2nd rounder thrown in as well. Given their starting position, that's going to be very tough to achieve.

Butters and their future 1st?

If we pick Sharp good luck getting a clearance against our on ball trio for the next decade

Lalor (188cm, maybe 190?), Smilie (195cm), Sharp (188cm and growing)

All going to be around 90kg +

AFL will change the rules, no tackling in the middle of the ground after we just beat teams up

Greeves is 191cm too 🤣🤣🤣

Agreed but I would love a Butters style mid to go with our bulls and Sharp is another bull.
Sure, but who's to say that Lalor won't be playing more of a Dusty type role that spends more time in the forward line.
You need a good 10 players to rotate through the middle these days

So how much harder is the bidding mechanics for next years draft?

Gold Coast has 5 academy players in the top 30 next year. Swans have 3, Brisbane has 1 (argubally another top 5 pick), Tasmania has 1, Pies have 1 F/S Cats 1, WCE 3

Thats what whopping 15 tied players in the top 30...

They better pour some of that Membership money into developing our NGA program if thats the way the AFL is headed.

It's crazy but also why we traded all our later future picks. 4d chess

Probably does, but we still need elite speed in their and Hotton is the only mid we have with elite speed so far.

Where are you getting these numbers of club tied players for top 30? Matches with nothing I’ve seen, the afl academy only has 7 out of 28 for next year.
