The thing with Jagga is that he was the best performed mid all year. He would’ve been great for us but was never going number 1 and unlikely he was going to last to 6.

Barring injuries he’s going to play 200-300 games and be a gun however he’s also been out of school for the year. He trained and played a semi professional lifestyle. He’s ceiling isn’t anywhere close to Lalor and Smillie that’s not to say he won’t be as good as the others may never live up to their expectations.

We didn’t need Jagga to come in to get 20-25 touches a game. We still have accumulators in Taranto, Hoppet and Prestia who all butcher it and don’t offer much outside being a mid which is exactly what Jagga will be.

I reckon he’s going to be an absolute star but I love the way we have drafted looking a few years in the future. Blues needed Jagga, the most ready made player so good luck to them but they’ve already screwed the first two years of their window. Look forward to them screwing it up again next year too

The Alger trade was a beauty
Totally unexpected with this kid being ranked and expected to go in the 25-35 range of a deep draft and we got him for a future 4th rounder in a sh!t draft

Kid looks a beauty and so young that could almost have been a 2025 draftee
well done blair

His team was part of the 'Trade of the Century' ...the losing part!

In that case…. Just makes him come off like a whinny little BIATCH… just when I thought it wasn’t possible he seems to have scaled to new lows… just seems to be his “style”?

What’s wrong with that c*t Damian Barrett , whinging that we need to stop patting ourselves on the back over the draft.
pretty sure it’s the media knocking on our door not the other way around.
He’s majorly p!ssed that we are going to be back up there competing again soon.

All you need to know about Parrot is that he’s a senior football writer and has been for 15+ years during the entirety of Dusty’s career. Dusty retires a legend of the game. Dusty article count from Parrot to reflect on his career and pay respects = zero.

Sorry mate, I can't let this slide.

Apart from his name, how does Meatball make the "butcher's list"? He has always been one of the best users of the footy in the league, let alone Richmond FC.

Go back and watch all of those many finals matches and you'll see how incredibly damaging and creative Prestia's ball use was.

Lotve talls
Blair is a bloody mastermind at this stuff makes me wonder if he’s banking a couple for Benny Gale and Tassie to bring on and swing some value back our way outve the Tassie concessions that are only two years away.

Benny Gale, JR they’ve been mates with Blair for what 15 years?
Wouldn’t be surprised if we’re in cahoots behind the scenes.
Fk the AFL…I’d love it if that’s what’s happening.
Sampson Ryan for an early second round pick.

Sampson Ryan for an early second round pick.
He's one of Dimma's darlings, alternatively we could Bailey Smith him and gush that he got three goals from his first three kicks in AFL football

If we get say pick 1 and pick 3 in next years draft should we offer those picks to West Coast for Harley Reid?
Probably. Would like to see where the top 3 prospects sit by mid year though. It's a massive price to pay.

clubs are reportedly offering him something silly like $18m over 10 years, which he could very well be worth and has shown potential to be worth that, but for me to want to do that trade (picks+$$$) he would have to have an insane year next year. if he doesn't improve exponentially on this year and the u18s have a clear gun top 3-5 players, i would much rather take the 2 players

dyson sharp had insane u16 stats (36.8d at 71% & 6.6cl, 5t over 13 games), and then this year averaged 27.1d at 70%, 6.5cl & 7.6t as an underager in the u18s sanfl over 8 games. comparing sharp's & reid's underage carnivals, sharp per game avg'd 2 less disposals, 3 less marks, 0.2 less goals & 4 more tackles, so it looks like sharp was more of a defensive minded midfielder. sharp also played reserves and seniors this year, so with another preseason and year of seniors he will only improve (still averaged 8.2 tackles in the seniors as an underager)

reid is obviously a star but there's legitimately a chance sharp could have a better u18s year than reid. reid is definitely more of an eye-catcher though as it stands, whereas sharp is more of a defensive running workhorse that we could use. we should also be backing in lalor to play the role that harley reid is playing, and while you'd love two of them, sometimes you need someone to get down and dirty for lalor and smillie even though they can also do it well themselves

now when you consider sharp... don't forget to factor in that you'd not only be getting him, you would also be getting another top 3 mid, and if the team before us picks a tall, then we get the second best mid, anything is possible

and who knows, maybe wce hold harley to his contract, and then in 2026 we do a 3 way trade with port/adelaide involving reid + sharp if both are homesick, in that case we wouldn't have to use 2 first round picks for reid!
