Reminds me of this question:I’ve always argued the best contested mark the game has seen. In my time, anyway.
That will never happen. Any number 35 and under is a good number. If we get to that problem it's party time.
I just think giving the new kids low numbers tells everyone else: "These kids, the ones coming for your position, they're special. You're not." That could breed resentment.
We have a stack of great numbers available. If I were Yze I'd write them all up on a board, give a little history lesson about each one and who's worn them, then say, right - who wants them? Show me. Not over pre-season, over next season. You want the number worn by Hart, Raines, Martin? Make me give it to you.
Dusty presenting Lalor with 36 and saying, "I started in this" would be more powerful and meaningful than giving him 4, I reckon.
I’ve always argued the best contested mark the game has seen. In my time, anyway.
Reminds me of this question:
During the decade 2000-2009, which player took the most contested marks? A) Matthew Richardson, B) Nick Riewoldt, C) Jonathan Brown or D) Warren Tredrea?
AFL Tables has your back - granted, contested marks only appear to be in their stats from 1999 onwards but it's a pretty strong caseCarey was the only one I would rank with Richo, and maybe at a stretch, Stewie Lowe but if it’s good enough for Carey then it’s good enough for me.
I’ve always said, if Richo had’ve been in Pagans Paddock he’d be a Legend in the HoF by now.
I’ve always argued the best contested mark the game has seen. In my time, anyway.
Agreed with the Carlton thing but earning a number is beyond pathetic. What if they earn it and a low enough number isn’t available. Just let these kids forge their own identity from the start.

Should change his nameYep, it’s pretty disastrous for them I reckon. I wonder if roos10 is still around stalking our thread? Not seeing many laughing reactions under the posts since the draft
Only thing I pay is taxes. That’s because you’re a lazy campaigner that doesn’t pay attention
Think it's too early too give out Dustys number.Carlton gave Jagga number 7 and their other dross highish numbers too. 16, 21, 22 & 28.
I sure hope we give our guys good numbers. They will lead us to our next successful era. Just put it to them. Dimma bullshit earn numbers is rank.
2 - Seth Campbell

10 - Taj Hotton
12 - Harry Armstrong

Can somebody please post the hot Essendon chick
The 8 points for the season mark?will we tank next year or just shite
I think we can make the 8
Excellent mark.Sims is an excellent 1 take very clean grab…hope he can establish himself as that ruck utility / resting forward
Love the big fella.I’ve always argued the best contested mark the game has seen. In my time, anyway.
We gonna promote Trezza or what?Think it's too early too give out Dustys number.
Give 36 too Lalor.
Same path as the Goat.
Give him next availableWe gonna promote Trezza or what?
You provided the answer in your questionWhat’s wrong with that c*t Damian Barrett , whinging that we need to stop patting ourselves on the back over the draft.
pretty sure it’s the media knocking on our door not the other way around.
He’s majorly p!ssed that we are going to be back up there competing again soon.
Every club has to pass before the draft is concluded.Pretty sure our list is full albeit I'm not sure what that last pick that we passed was about.
Only clubs likely below North are WC, Essendon and us. Saints are better than all 3.You'd imagine North will naturally improve with more games for their young kids but realistically when you look at what they bought in to their club versus others around the mark I don't see how they're going to rise much higher than 15-16th.
Norf- FOS, Whitlock (unlikely to play), Darling, Parker, Konstanty & Daniel
Melb- get Petracca and Oliver back more full time, Langford, Lindsay
Adel- cumming, Neal bullen, peatling, Draper, welsh
West coast- graham, baker, owies, allen, Shanahan, gross
Best case for them is finishing about 10th - that's going from 2 wins to 10 wins and a massive step forward.
Pick 9 for 27 and a future 2nd that once academies/FA are done, will be about 30 next year. Nobody is giving up a top 10 pick for 2 picks after 25 so we can't lose this trade.
Realistically I think it'll look like pick 5 for 27&30 with only Essendon, West Coast, Saints and us likely to be on par or below them.
jonty and Armstrong will be like this….they have that white line fever campaigner about them
The AFL site, shouldn’t be clickbait journalism. You provided the answer in your question
Is that the Chief with the snide "if Matthew Richardson can kick straight"?God this is good
His team was part of the 'Trade of the Century' ...the losing part! What’s wrong with that c*t Damian Barrett.
