In this article, they grade the fixtures of each team by quarters. Essendon have a super easy first quarter, but an extremely difficult final one. Are they set up for another collapse in 2025?

Interestingly, our fixture is not terribly hard, but is nowhere near as easy as you'd expect for a team who finished 17th. It grades out only slightly easier than Carlton's, for example.

The AFL have a program that sets up the "fixture" over a period of several years with weighting geared towards equality maximising revenue by creating marquee games and a greater chance of playing finals for larger clubs at the expense of the smaller club/s.
