We don't get any say, he's unrestricted. Josh might sign for $150k a year and we get SFA compo. He clearly wants to go to his childhood club, we're just relying on the AFL to come to the party with this.

I have no doubt there was a handshake agreement re: Sheil, related to Gresham and us getting decent compo. When he hurt his knee, we delayed it by 12 months, but the salary dump has allowed/will allow them to pay Gresham enough, or at least structure the deal that maximised our compo.
