I have been reading all this avidly but not adding anything. Above my pay grade to rate all the kids to be drafted. And it’s just an exercise for today. How it works out in the future is anyone’s guess.
But we do know that it will rated again in years to come. And it won’t bear much...
All these fantastically rated players seem to have downsides. Every player has a but….. But he doesn’t do this, but he doesn’t do that. In a Superdraft!
Makes me kind of glad we kept our picks for next year. So far.
I remember a few years ago looking very jealously at Jack Macrae racking up the possessions and using it well. Thought to myself that it would be great to have someone like that.
I know he is not quite the same player but he’ll still be quality. I watched him closely this year for a while as...
It was P66 that also drove me away from SS. He hijacked not only every thread but individual posts if he could. I had been on there for years. I then came across here! And b****r me if P66 got banned on SS (finally) and came onto BF. The luck!
I quite liked Stinger. He got banned after I left...
I don’t have a problem that we are keeping our powder dry. Our whole aim is to draft before the Tassie team gets going. Unless a very advantageous deal comes up just stay with that strategy. Draft night and live trading could shake loose some very nice things.
And pressure on Wednesday to get...
All these scenarios are like looking at the menu in a great restaurant. You love it all. You just don’t know what to choose.
Then you do pick…it arrives…..should have chosen something else.
Hope this year is different of course. Recent years been pretty good.
I do like that we are saying...
I’m still of the view to use our top picks in the draft. Split one of them….sure. If it suits. Live trading….who knows what might pop out? Getting our second round pick this year was due to that last year. Now gold. Henry for free.
Next year all in on Free Agents. Hard as it is for us. Going...
Delighted that Battle got us Pick 8. Farewell to him. And we now pray we get a couple of 10-15 year guns that transform our future.
But the media are just shocking. I think they all now believe they have to be Kane Cornes. Attack everything, and become the news itself. There are just too many...
Yes. I could see how that could look. A bit of a Mark Waugh. Made it seem easy. But for a bloke under 6ft he could take the big mark. Played full forward for a while. He could position himself to take an easy mark one on one. Bit of Jesse Hogan.
And he watched the Doc so his ground ball skills...
Cannot see how this Merrett thing would happen. Would cost too much, and we need to keep on the path of drafting. 2 picks (hopefully ) in the top 10 of a strong draft. You don’t give them away.
They probably got Father/Son or Academy picks. Or traded out fair players for good picks to desperate clubs. Always going onwards and upwards.
We haven’t had the draft capital from any of those sources. We have been over this endlessly.
This has more to do with getting in some more high...
Battle grew up barracking for Hawthorn. Along with his family. I can see (along with the money) why that would be a major factor. And the childcare. Wonder if childcare goes in the soft cap? 🤔
Jack Higgins wanted to play for his childhood team. If I’d been good enough same for me. I understand...
Carlton missing quite a few. Which to some cheapens our win. But as Ross pointed out in his Press Conference, their midfield was pretty intact. And handy. Minus Cerra. Although I’m not sure about him.
But we have a few out too. The much maligned King. I still think if fit he’s a gun. Henry has...
In the play that ended with Higgo kicking the winning goal, Hunter went through that pack and created a bit of a gap. He jostled Walsh through past the ball when Walsh might have killed or cleared it. No stat. But so important. And possibly unseen.
It seemed to me that Hunter Clark played well. One boo boo I can remember. But he was in everything at one point when the heat really got going. Was scrabbling through the packs trying to get it to our advantage. Impressive.
He seemed a busted high pick. But all is not lost. I think the last...
