Many thanks to those that voted for my Stirling Mustangs design. Obviously I'm a bit disappointed to be leading and then fall at the last hurdle. But still very pleased with 2nd Overall.
Congrats to Kolja51 for winning the comp, and of course many thanks to LiverpoolRed for running the comp.
Re: VFL and State Leagues
Cheers, mate. My intention was to design a website that gave our players and supporters with as much information as possible about the Club.
Re: VFL and State Leagues
If the templates of these guernseys look strangely familiar, it's because I drew them and posted them on the Stirling Saints website (as I developed and maintain the website on behalf of my footy club).
Based on some game day photos of the recent GWS vs Northern Knights clash in the TAC Cup, I have had a go at drawing the actual GWS guernsey, based on the ISC guernsey template and TAC "L120" logo.
Re: VFL and State Leagues
Good work, Aidan (sorry for the previous misspelling). In addition to the above comments, I have noticed a few other discrepancies:
(1) Swan Districts have an all black back;
(2) South Freo's front number is red (not black) and is located just below the V;
(3)...
Re: Design Competition - Heaps of prizes to be won.
Concept: There has been some discussion of a third AFL team from WA in the near future. The AFL has realized that the southern and central metropolitan areas of Perth are well served by the Dockers and Eagles. However, the northern...
Sorry for the lateness, but here is my entry for KOTW. I know I may be in the minority, but I don't actually compete in any Dream Team league. But I have put together an entry anyway. To be honest, there is no deep meaning with this design. Only that I really like the Stingrays for a logo...
1st Entry
The design for this entry is based on a design by ROates (I think) in the West Sydney thread. The Home guernsey maintains the red, white and black vertical panels, but with a purple anchor-like structure. The Away guernsey is the same design, but I just played around with the...
Re: VFL and State Leagues
Thanks for the positive comments. And yes, it has taken a lot of time ... but it's something I love(d) doing.
It would also be good if someone could do a similar thing for the VFA/VFL teams.
I actually did speak with Mero a couple of years back and sent him what I...
Re: VFL and State Leagues
A couple of posters have made comments about histories of jumpers at WAFL, VFL, SANFL clubs. After first viewing Mero's AFL jumpers website a couple of years ago, I got inspired and tried to develop a similar history of WAFL guernseys.
The information that I have...
Thanks for the offer, Coxy. But as I said, I don't think it will make a lot of difference, as I don't expect a lot of votes for my first design. Cheers, mate.
Hi Coxy,
I know it won't make any difference to the voting, but my entries in Poll A and Poll D are both the same image. Unfortunately my first entry never got to the poll. Sorry for not bringing this up earlier, but I was away on work this week and just realized the poll was on.
Cheers...
ThunderPower inspired me to have a go at the Aston Villa kit. Obviously nothing adventurous, as the current Villa kit is pretty simple with a claret chest and blue sleeves. I have added the lion from Villa's previous logo to add a focal point to the guernsey. I have also used Villa's clash...
Holy crap! After viewing all the designs, including onyacoxy, LeeARM, shanenine, cory, Gibbyspin, Pie Machine, Willo, etc, me thinks my chances of back-to-back wins are hugely reduced. Some really great designs in this comp.
Anyway, here are my two entries. The first is a modification of...
Hey Coolknot. Sorry about the delay in responding. As a newbie, I forgot to check the visitor messages for a couple of weeks. Anyway, not sure what commercial you mean, but it wasn't me unfortunately.
Hello All,
Thanks heaps to all those that voted for my design. I must say that I feel very proud to win this first comp, given the calibre of the designers on this board. I can now die a happy man with this win (and as you can see, I have already changed my signature!) :D
With MOTW Round 2...
As a former Curtin Uni student, I must say that it is hard to compete with Smeagle's Curtin Uni kits, particular the away kit. That is some exceptional work and, as Gibbyspin said, well worth the wait.
Thanks to all that voted for my design. I must say it is quite a surprise, given all the great designs. I know it's early days, but I am very happy to be in the running to win my first competition.
Cheers,
PaulieG
My entry for kit of the week is for the Curtin University Wolverines in Perth, WA.
The home guernsey has a stylised C logo in the shape of a football, which also incorporates the hexagon shape shown on the actual Curtin Uni logo. At first, I was going to simply have a white reverse version...
Thanks Furla, ThunderPower, aidancdaman and Muse for the positive feedback on my Melbourne Hawks entry. It is very much
appreciated.
I did have the thought that my home guernsey has the same colours as an existing team (in Adelaide). But, I guess that is
why we have clash guernseys.
My first enrty for the Melbourne Hawks. I have tried to retain the existing Melbourne and Hawthorn jumpers as much as possible, but with the added Hawks logo.
Re: VFL and State Leagues
Hey Smeagle,
Thanks for picking up those errors in my WAFL guernseys. I have made the changes and updated my previous post (using your brilliant new WAFL template).
In relation to the font of the East Freo jumper, I do not have the Berthold City Bold font that...
Re: VFL and State Leagues
Here are the existing WAFL guernseys. Only three of the nine teams have a clash guernsey.
(P.S. I have amended these to reflect the errors picked up by Smeagle. Cheers for that!)
Claremont Tigers (new jumper for 2010)
East Fremantle Sharks
East Perth...
