Great response thank you.
I understood the logic re pick 37 and Logan Smith.
I didn't realise that Peatling was on the rookie list and thought that with him Perryman Cumming Haynes Fahey Keefe and Preuss all off the senior list that the Giants were likely to take 5 or 6 picks in the...
I would like to know the logic behind Giants agreeing to that trade. Seems as if you are trading for very similar pick in a weaker draft. My understanding is that the Giants have the list spots to take 5 picks in this years National Draft.
The noise on McDonald and others means nothing. Mostly just media generated that fools take as fact and then keep the narrative going. Regardless of Treacy's rapid development no one on this forum knows what McDonald's or Freo's thinking was. Signing late means little. Could have been hoping to...
Good decision by the AFL in my opinion. The draft is way too compromised. Had to do something after the Suns got 4 academy picks in the first. First pick in the second round of the 2023 draft was 29. Not fair to the bottom few clubs. We already have 6 players on our list at 20% discount. Some...
Nah. I hate the draft being so compromised and happy with most of the changes being brought in next year.
I like the notion of fathers and sons playing at the same club but have never understood the reasoning behind the 20% discount. I say, if for example Brisbane want Ashcroft they can match a...
Richmond should get the Gold Coast's pick 6/7. Maybe they take Armstrong with that pick whilst Gold Coast still get Lombard by matching a bid whenever it comes.
I presume Armstrong to Essendon but what has happened to Fremantle's picks currently 9 and 10 I think. Presumably one has gone to Richmond. What about the other.
If North get pick 3 for McKay then Giants first pick is 7 and second pick would be 14 at the earliest even before allowing for Suns academy picks.
I also think any team would be crazy to trade 2 and 6/7 for 1. That is like saying getting Reid is better than getting both Curtin and Caddy or...
I can see us swapping some of our 2nd and 3rd round picks for the Suns first round pick which they will be looking to trade for more points for their 3 highly rated academy players. Would leave us with hypothetically with picks 7, 11 and either a second or third rounder. I would use either 7 or...
They already have 1 first rounder, 2 second rounders, 3 third rounders and 3 fourth rounders. They will also undoubtedly trade their first rounder for multiple later picks.
You can't replace players on the LTI list via the mid season- only players placed on the inactive list, meaning they can't play again this year. Presumably they will do that with Reid like they did with Naismith last year.
