    Analysis 2024 National Draft

Imo, some are starting to think the Top 5 aren't elite because for a month now posters, and people around the Club no doubt, have been picking each one apart, in favour of their other favoured ones, and in absolute fear of the next SPS or Dow. Of course that doesn't exclude some who would...

    Analysis 2024 National Draft

Imo, this certainly IS a Superdraft. It is the best standard, along with the 2018 crop, that i've seen since following U18 in 2011. Top 5 players are all Top 2 worthy. Very deep 2nd and 3rd tiers. Quality players of all types and positions right thru to 60. Gun draft,

    Analysis 2024 National Draft

Jagga certainly comes with a very clean bill of health if we nab him. I don't know how much that would influence the decision, but it can't hurt. He doesn't seem like the injury type. At 38 with the KPD decision, that might also be a consideration. O'Farrell seems a bit brittle. Dennis has foot...

    Analysis 2024 National Draft

I think with FOS, his year was flatout uninspiring. He had things go wrong all year. It's no good looking for what isn't there in his tapes this year. But the scouts still love him. I have a feeling that FOS, the easy going country boy enjoyed his last year of freedom for the next 15 years. I...

    Analysis 2024 National Draft

Apparently the Ainter's aren't happy with Cal's Phantom over on their Board. Such a shame for Ross that his flatout gut busting triumph over our reserves cost him 5&6 and 2 Tier A mids.

    Analysis 2024 National Draft

I was super pleased to hear that from Jagga. Had the intelligence to listen to advice. And had the natural ability to change his game up for the better, Big tick for that. Also i sought of thought all year that Jagga had an advantage on his peers by being out of school this year and helped him...

    Analysis 2024 National Draft

Yes. There is stacks of Daicos in Jagga. They play very alike. The difference is in the kicking. Daicos kicking is amazing. 55m goals on the right and 48m goals on the left at 18yo. Absolutely searing kick. Jagga a great player but Daicos' kicking makes him elite.

    Analysis 2024 National Draft

Of the 4 considerations for our Pick 3 i am secretly hoping it will be in order: 1. Lalor 2. Draper 3. FOS/Smith I think Lalor is a level above as a prospect. Draper as the second best overall and best for us in short and long term. FOS as the dual position with huge upside. Smith will help...

    Analysis 2024 National Draft

Again, i agree. He looked at home and dangerous that day across HB. But the "it was against WC" caveat stops me getting carried away. WC effort was horrendous that day. Elijah was great but....... I do want to see him there again though. I bet he puts some time in across HB in preseason match sim.

    Analysis 2024 National Draft

I agree. Not banking on him being a star. But i am hoping he will be a classy contributer with a maybe high upside still to come. I sung his praises on here after a series of top games but he pretty much got a bit lax straight after imo. Showed his flaws. He'll be an interesting watch. I think...

    Analysis 2024 National Draft

I agree with that. But i think Elijah is that pinch hitting mid for us. Sid would allow Walsh to be utilised a bit better/smarter imo. Give him some chopout on the ball.

    Analysis 2024 National Draft

Rest assured, Draper is "not just fast". He is All Australian his last 3 years. Has starred at every level, including Senior SANFL. He is a great attacking, and defensive player. Averaged 6 tackles a game at SANFL level. He is a gun player and leader, who is fast.

    Analysis 2024 National Draft

Maybe. Just hearing a few lil question marks on his competitiveness as a kpf, and drive maybe. Plus he doesn't strike me as the type interstate clubs might be keen on. I dunno. Just a feel though.

    Analysis 2024 National Draft

Last day for thoughts/predictions/guesses before Twomey hugely influences things with his largely accurate info tomorrow: My crack at a 1st rd prediction on actual draft night: 1. Rich: Sam Lalor 2. Rich: Jagga Smith (For 6&18) 3. Carl: Finn O'Sullivan 4. Adel: Sid Draper 5. Mel: Harvey...

Would that be a Dodson move C4? Get before a few Tigers picks who are linked to him.

    Analysis 2024 National Draft

For those interested, Draper was very happy with his back in that interview. Said it is not an issue and is pleased how strong it is feeling now. Sounds like it is a normal young athlete issue. Alix Tarau also missed the combine with and is recovering from a back stress fracture i understand...

Rumour Draft Rumours 2024 - No rumours allowed

That may be the case for us armchair experts who only get to watch vision. But recruiting teams get so much more info on them as footballers, teammates, leaders, as people in general etc etc. Add in knowledge of what they are looking for as a team, and as a club. After all that, your Pick 8 will...

SOS trading it for 35 & 36 so he can bid on him twice?

Rumour Draft Rumours 2024 - No rumours allowed

Insanity imo. This is not a cheapshot, but StKilda repeatedly have trouble attracting elite players. Like all teams, they have plenty of high level and next level talent always rolling through. But to throw a towel over everyone between 7 & 20 is madness. Anyone can take the job and read out...

Rumour Draft Rumours 2024 - No rumours allowed

I can't fathom how StKilda would contemplate moving back from the 7,8 combo. Surely getting elite talent is their No.1, 2,3 and infinity gameplans. Trade up, sure. That 7&F1 for 2 deal should absolutely be contemplated. But trading back should be nowhere near discussion level imo. Option 1...

Pt2: Adrian Dodoro: Football’s Biggest Fraud IMO

30 years of totally fruitless employment to the hustler son of Sheedy's local fruiterer. Has made a fortune off EFC linament sniffers and fellow hustlers. And he sues em for more on the way out. Lololol There hasn't been many better at his trade.....the hustle trade that is.

    Analysis 2024 National Draft

My take is hardly ground breaking: There is a clear Top Tier consensus in Lalor, FOS, Draper, Langford, Smith. We have gone deep in depth into all of them. The LM have handed these 5 over to Vossy to meet and interview and feel out. The LM will have an order in their head pre Vossy. They will...

    Analysis 2024 National Draft

There is no doubt that Ben in particular shut up shop pretty much after the Carnival. I doubt he would have done many interviews etc. He didn't need to. I think later F/S's aren't covered properly by other clubs. It's a bit different from Academy's. AFL is still pretty much a group of...

    Analysis 2024 National Draft

I'm one of SOS's biggest critics. I've thought he's a shit bloke for decades. And he's got a real sickness with refusing to accept he can be wrong, like everyone else can be wrong. In saying that, i have very little worry that he will bid on Ben Campo. Saints already have a slowish midfield and...

    Analysis 2024 National Draft

It's not really that i rate Smith low. I see it more that i rate Reid, Lyndsay and Travaglia a bit higher than most. I think the quality this year is great for future AFL players. Reid can do it all imo. Gets the ball, uses it really smartly, isn't slow, kicks and sets up goals, and to top it...

    Analysis 2024 National Draft

Yes. The heights have all varied throughout the year on various lists. But i would take Sheehan's official AFL guide as up to date and accurate. FOS, Draper and Jagga all 182cm.

    Analysis 2024 National Draft

Just a little thing on Sid i noticed. Shifter Sheehan listed him at 182cm on his official AFL Guide today. He had been getting around as 180cm's on various lists. Every lil bit helps. Sid, Finn and Jagga all exactly 182cm on the up to date Shifter list. Lalor 187.

    Analysis 2024 National Draft

10 days away. I can't see us taking anyone other than Lalor, Finn or Draper now. Personally i'd be rapt with any of them. They all perfectly fit the stated, and obvious, needs of Carlton. Pace, explosive Mid/Forward. Bravo young Curly. What an inspired trade period he had. A slight crack...
