Shhhhh can tell you that Jaeger has a 4yr offer tabled to him from the Dockers, which will make it very hard for him to turn down as he'd always hoped to return to Perth after football.
Shhhhh would like to share the following.
Do not expect wholesale changes while this formline continues. The HFC will not be blooding kids for the sake of it. Selections will be measured.
The main reason the experienced bodies have brought into the side is to shelter the less seasoned players...
Shhhhh hears that the club views the 2019 draft as significantly stronger than the 2020 draft.
Although final list decisions are still being formalized, the list management team would like to see the club take additional picks to the 2019 draft.
Allow me to reintroduce myself, fellow Hawks.
Shhhhh hears that barring some unforeseen surprise during trade week, Patton will indeed be a Hawk in 2020.
Shhhhh has also heard that the HFC are quite happy with where they sit regarding Coniglio, but not so much with the AFL’s involvement.
Barring any more injuries - touch wood everyone - our list is in extremely healthy shape going into round one. Of our 47 players, all bar Alex Woodward, would be available for selection. Keep crossing fingers and touching wood, we could enter the season in the best shape for years.
I'm happy to report that David Hale's life threatening ankle injury is not so life threatening anymore. Judging by the way he pedalled the bike in the gym this morning his ankle is exactly as reported - rolled. Nothing serious.
The players are still on holiday, so there are not many players to be seen at Waverley at the moment. With one notable exception - Roughie, who is looking great.
His forward partner, Lance, was also training by himself today doing of all things, 100 meter sprints for over an hour.
There is absolutely nothing amiss with Roughy. Nothing.
He's very upbeat, progressing well in his rehabilitation and still aiming for round 1 next year. Rumors and heresay about setbacks, further complications and infections are nothing but rumors.
Franklin looked good at training. Shhhhh expects to see him line up.
Hardly news, but comforting that the demise of our star forward has been greatly exaggerated.
An update on Jarryd Roughhead.
Yes, he was in hospital. An infection is nothing unusual, we all get them and it is not a complication to his operation. Relax.
Cyril's hamstring was more of a tweak. It's not major. He's currently doing a mini block of fitness work that will see him ready and firing for the finals. As of this afternoon there is no doubt that he'll play against Melbourne.
I hear that Hawthorn is launching a very exciting fan competition this week. Thursday is what I hear. A great prize to be won - one that commemorates our five decades of flags. Stay tuned.
Jordan Lisle will be operated on tomorrow for a depressed fracture of the cheekbone. Not season ending...
Shhhhh would like to add that Ben Stratton is progressing very well, yet do not be under the illusion that there is any timetable, or date for him to return this year. That eventuality is highly unlikely and it is not being mentioned, factored in or planned for.
Shhhhh spotted Ben Stratton on the training track this week doing his best flamingo impersonation(balancing on one leg), to strengthen nerves, while catching a tennis ball from one of the fitness staff.
Much talk about young Ryan Schoenmakers on the Hawthorn Board of late.
He is injured; without going into specifics, his ankle is playing up, and is having/had injections into it. Should be right for round 1, but the Club didn't want to risk him with the travel or in the seconds.
